speaking of puns (again ), I have to share this with fellow Loungers -- over on the Alaska Airlines board someone asked what to do with a day in Nome (meaning 9 hours between flights)

Currently #2/22 for 0 F seats on this afternoon's flight. Aircraft changed from a refurbished A320 to a non-refurbished A320 back to a refurbished A320. I was excited when I saw my seat had changed from row 10 to row 4, but alas, it was still the first row of C+ (and subsequently changed back to row 10 when the a/c changed again).

Right now there is no 9 hour day in Nome. A day in Nome today maxes out at 8 hours 47 minutes, and you lose almost 7 minutes off that every day.

If he's waiting for a 9 hour day in Nome, he'll be stuck there until next March.

I wonder if areas with very short days suffer a lot of mental health issues similar to Seasonal Affective Disorder. It's important in such environments to maintain good social connections -- after all, Nome man is an island.

uh, no, Nome man lives on the southern edge of a peninsula; there’s the chain of islands to the east, along with a very small one that appears to be about 30 miles to the west

I've been told that there are problems of this sort in Stockholm.

saw this Bear Republic offering on the menu at the Black Squirrel (near the Dunn Loring metro in Falls Church VA) ... let’s just say the 5-oz glass is a good thing; it’s highly unusual, and definitely an acquired taste

Vanish Farm Brewing out in Loudoun County does this very nice “Ghost Fleet” IPA
