Kenny "The Jet" Smith of March Madness and NBA on TNT was on LAX to ATL a few weeks ago.
He got dropped off planeside in a Porsche.
I got my first ever on-plane upgrade to F. I ended up sitting right in front of him and did not recline the entire flight out of respect (and I was working the whole time).

When your nickname is "The Jet" and you step on a plane, you are no longer the most important "Jet" around. At least for the next 4 1/2 hours.

A couple days before the Super Bowl had Dr. Oz on a flight into ATL from NYC.

Back in April had two flights in a row in and out of ILM with pretty good celebrity sightings. Flying in sat a few rows back from Ice Cube as he was heading in to perform at Azalea Fest. Leaving had Kevin Durand (the actor) sitting behind me in coach.

A couple weeks ago saw Rodney Harrison at an ATL Sky Club checking in as we were leaving.

Regina Benjamin. 18th US Surgeon General (2009-2013) flying back home to PNS from ATL and she was on her way home to outside of Mobile, AL. Was very friendly. Didn't know who she was at first, then she pulled out her iPad and was standing next to president Obama(not in uniform but civilian clothing). I asked her if she got an award and she said no, I was the US surgeon general. Felt stupid but she took it in stride. Even talked about FT as she saw my tag hanging off my backpack and asked about it. She gave me her card with her contact info on one side and a picture of her in uniform on the other. Thanked her for her service after landing.

I don't think there is any reason to feel "stupid." I'd reckon if you asked 100 Americans who the Surgeon General was, 97 of them would have a blank stare and the other 3 would say, "Dr. Koop?"
It's not that high profile of a position in this day and age.

Better late than never...

May 17, LAX->JFK, red-eye... John Legend and his family sitting in DL One. Looks as though they were headed off International elsewhere from there.

Alex Borstein, who plays talent agent Susie on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and was on MadTV was just on my BCN-JFK flight. Was actually behind her in the passport control queue first. She looks quite different in person from her character.
She apparently lives in Barcelona now.

My seatmate on LGA-ORD on Friday was New York Senator (and Senate Minority Leader) Chuck Schumer. About a half dozen people recognized him during boarding and said something. I would've thought more would, but I actually wasn't 100% sure it was him until he started talking to his aide in the row behind us. (Strangely, the aide boarded early with an escort, but Chuck boarded about halfway through boarding without an escort.)

Are you sure it was an aide and not part of his security detail?

Sat next to John Conyers in row 1 on a Sat morning several years ago, DCA-DTW. He was traveling alone but was met at the gate in DTW. We talked a bit about politics, nothing consequential.
