However, for people who do not follow Richard Anderson and how he is managing Amtrak, it is worth Googling it, so you can understand what is going on right now at Amtrak. Just Google "Southwest Chief" for starters.
Yes I was already aware of his dismantling the long-distance service aspect of Amtrak and quite resentful of it. It makes sense to do the last leg on DL if you've gone over the pond - that's what I was doing too. Otherwise I would definitely take the train - Union Stn is central and even more convenient than DCA and Penn Stn is much more convenient to pretty much everywhere in NYC than JFK.

Was he in D1 on the Milan flight?

I'm surprised he doesn't have Lifetime F - sheesh, if Tom Horton got that onAA, why not RA on DL? Someone mentioned his BP said not eligible for miles or UGs so he had to be flying NRSA (is Ed his sponsor?)

I believe so but it was hard to confirm by the pic....the person I know generally is always in DL One and premium cabins on DL.

Both his wife's name and his (well, a pseudonymous first name) were on the BP with a "No miles or upgrades". Is he on DL's board? I assumed so and that that was why he was NRSA.

Very cool! Usually it costs a lot more than a shuttle flight ticket to get that close LOL. I'd say the same for Bushie too so please. Kind of surprised that they boarded first though.

About 25 years ago, I was on a late night Delta flight, DFW-ATL. It was a 737. The boarding process was slow, and when I got on the plane, I was stopped (standing), by the first row of first class. I look over to my left, and I look at the person in the window seat, and it took a moment to realize who it was. It was Rosalyn Carter (Jimmy Carter's wife). She was reading a magazine as we were all boarding, so yes, she got on before all of us.

When I realized who it was, I immediately looked at the VERY BIG person sitting next to her, and saw he had an earpiece in his ear. I knew right away of course he was Secret Service. I got talking to the Flight Attendant while the plane was still boarding, and she told me there was another Secret Service agent on the plane also. (I was surprised she told me that).

When the plane got to Atlanta, Rosalyn Carter did exit down the jetway stairs into a police convoy.

As Former CEO he likely was given lifetime free F.

Richard Anderson was (very briefly) the Chairman of the Board of Delta Air Lines, when Ed Bastain took over as CEO. Being the Chairman of the Board did not last long, before he totally left Delta.

A couple of months later (not sure how many months), he become the head of Amtrak.

As long as he left Delta on a positive note, I am sure he has some sort of lifetime travel privileges.

Laurence Fishburne at MIA yesterday morning in the Precheck security line around 10:45 am - he was escorted and then inserted into the line just in front of me. Quiet, kept to himself, did not seem to want to be disturbed. First celeb encounter for me at an airport, so that was neat.

Hardly semi famous. Also most likely is paying for the service.

Is it much different than say paying the fee for CLEAR and skipping the line or getting to cut the main line because of airline status?
I have no idea who Lawrence Fishburne is, and while perhaps frustrating at the appearance of a celebrity or semi-celebrity getting preferential treatment, my guess is that celebs cutting the line is as much about keeping the regular lines moving as it is for the benefit of these celebs. If the celebs are in the normal line, then the line for everyone possibly gets held up as those around the celeb become more focused on trying to take pictures and selfies and engage in conversation versus moving through the security line.
