Having met the lovely Mrs. Cholula, I must conclude that this is a typo. Surely you meant "a 30-year-old English teacher" ...

Did anyone else notice the sly use of the acronym "BOHICA" in post #20?

Canarsie, my compliments on your exemplary merging of extraneous threads. ^ ^

I understand that FO really stands for "Flies Often," from back in the good old DL days. @:-)

But in the real good old days, my Grandpa knew many a Flight Officer, in the RAF.

FO - as in "I am FO with Delta" and "The offer appears to make you FO for this year"
It's a traditional international travel term which dates back to at least the 16th century. It means "Fallen Overboard"; however, some linguists and historians posit that it originally comes from the Latin "Fondo Offensivo", or deeply offensive, a reference to shipboard meal service in the Roman times.

Another little known fact is that those people were called "Romans" because they roamed widely, accumulating frequent floating millarium. (A millarium is equal to 0.9927 miles, so they reached gold slightly more quickly than we do).

I guess I disagree. I love seeing 5 threads with the subject lines being variations on "What is an FO?", preferably all on page 1 .

Yes, but since the poster was the rabidly anti-BAL JS, I chose not to comment .

Not really. Remember, they were the original users of GPS location systems. (Greek Precision Sailing).

And remember what happened to Phidippides, who ran the original 26.2 miles (26.39 millarium) from Marathon to Athens. People should consider that before entering a contemporary marathon.

Or Fallen Over, which is what happened to Phidippides after the first marathon. (and he never got up, he went to that great baggage claim in the sky)
