I see why I might get moved out of a bulkhead but why did I get moved to a bulkhead?

ETA - I was told I was "moved by the system" to accomodate a family - but it doesn't really make sense. They said if I cross referenced my resrevations, it wouldn't have happened. Lesson learned.
They say only the gate can move the seats now.

phone agents are basically never going to do anything in this case, though clearly "only the gate can move the seats now" is incorrect (obviously someone other than the gate moved you in the first place).

essentially your only option is asking the gate agent (who is unlikely to do anything) or asking on board. An FA might help you ask others but essentially it's going to come down to the preferences of others on board.
