CMB using SkyTeam

Hello, is it possible to fly to Sri Lanka (CMB) using SkyTeam? It looks like KE does not fly there. I hoping to connect in ICN.

MU flies there to/from PVG and a couple of other places. I believe that's it for SkyTeam options, as SV stopped serving CMB during the pandemic.

KE is showing codeshares on SriLankan Airlines flights from ICN in Feb/Mar. No DL Skymiles earning on SriLanken flights since they are not Skyteam.
KL/AF look to offer connections via BLR on IndiGo (no DL earning on IndiGo flights).

What is your desired point of origin?

China Eastern flies to CMB. But if you are hoping to connect only in ICN, that seems to narrow your choices.

It would be helpful if you provided your origin, and what you are seeking to optimize (miles earning, elite benefits, etc.)

My point of origin is MKE. I am not “married” to an ICN connection. I just find that ICN is great for an overnight rest after the long flight, even using Delta One.

I am also thinking of flying to IST on DL/KL/AF. Then flying on to CMB on TK or even connecting in Qatar if I can use their transit package where
you can stay in Doha for a couple of nights before continuing on.

Thank you all for your thoughtful answers. They are really helpful!

Since DL doesn't fly to CMB... I'm going to lock this thread up.

One way to answer this question easily is to use Google Flights and filter on "Skyteam" alliance. ATL-CMB requires a 48 hour transit through JFK and an 18-hour layover in PVG. There are no legal routes from MKE that I could find on a handful of selected dates.
