Full refund to CC instead of partial voucher
 

Recently booked trip using $250 voucher and rest credit card. Canceled trip as AUS-ATL was delayed and no way to still travel same day to destination.

Both the cancel screen and email told me I qualified for full refund to credit card. Surprised when that actually happened.

is this a glitch due to the new "automatic " refund system. (DOT requires airline to automatically refund fare in full. However it still should go to voucher for portion that is voucher)

Anyone else experience?

I had two D1 tix JFk-TLV back in October 2023 that was cancelled by DL due to the conflict. They were paid partially with vouchers but most with cc. All of the fare was refunded back to the cc.

I have surprisingly had several instances over the past few months where I got full credit card refunds for voluntary changes on regular main cabin non refundable tickets instead of ecredits. Even with several people on one pnr one person would get a refund and the other an ecredit.
