Rome arrival lounge
I will be taking DL to FCO this fall in Delta One and was wondering if anyone knows about arrivals lounges at the airport (mainly to shower before heading into the city). I don't believe that DL has any there but with different code shares and the like, I suppose anything is possible. If DL does not have such a lounge, does anyone know of one that can be accessed otherwise, such as paying for access or with some affiliation like Amex?
Just a side question. DL has two non-stops to FCO from ATL, one on the A330-300 with the old Delta One seats (I've flown it, okay IMO for an older product but not the greatest) and the other on an A350-900, which from the seat map appears to be one of the LATAM purchases with the weird old style business class seats and little privacy. I've seen reviews that say they're comfortable enough but I don't really want someone next to me and to be so open. Any opinions as to which really is the better choice? Thanks. |
No Delta or Skyteam arrival lounges at FCO. There is a for-fee HelloSky lounge listed that is apparently landside -- https://hellosky.travel/

I have flown D1 a few times on a 767-300 and I have flown THY on a 777 which has a similar J class as the ex LATAM 350. The THY seats are extremely comfortable and great for getting some shut eye and also a couple of inches wider then D1. So depends if you want privacy then D1 but for comfort ex LATAM.
Also LA A350 will be but more comfortable with lower cabin altitude pressure |

Part of my confusion is the DL app saying go to the Plaza Premium Lounge. Is my memory faulty? I just want a brief visit as I switch over to trains to make my way to Assisi. I also wonder if anyone recently flew DL #66 to FCO on the A300-900neo and whether the flight had a late arrival. |

I am flying Delta One ATL-FCO this weekend and a poster somewhere said that I could access at least the AZ E11 lounge on arrival.

It's on the way to the trains and signs in English say something like Arrival Lounge and Day Rooms. As far as I know that will be your best bet. I haven't gone in it, but I have walked by it many times. I have no clue on access. |

As of 5/1 Delta and other Skyteam pax no longer have access to the ITA lounges.

I went through the booking page and it quoted 25 Euros for 3 hours of access. |
I believe the reason the DL app is showing the Plaza Premium lounge is because that is the new contract lounge for D1 pax for departures (replacing the ITA lounges as of May 1). However, arriving pax will not have access to it.

I just want a moment to clean up and likely not need any food, but I also worried about a late flight and delays through immigration with all the traffic due to the Vatican Conclave that commences on May 7, 2025. At least it will be abundantly clear about getting through the airport and knowing a relatively short walk to the Leonardo Express. |

These responses have expertly clarified my options for which I am grateful.

Adding a post May 1 / post ITA update for anyone who may find this via search.
Plaza Premium is now the contract lounge for departing D1 pax. It is also a Priority Pass lounge (sign stated 2 hours max stay). While arriving DL pax can physically get to the door of the lounge (DL arrivals are airside), neither a D1 ticket or Priority Pass allow access on arrival. The Plaza Premium lounge is in the upper level/mezzanine of Boarding Area E1-8. DL typically operates out of the adjacent pier (Gates E11-E15 or so). The lounge is not particularly easy to find the first time. Attached a few pictures below.

Spoiler
At the moment, the Flighty app says my departure gate is E21 so we’ll see if that changes. I see on Spoiler Spoiler where the images are so not sure what I am doing wrong on that score. |

Thanks so much. I will be trying to find that lounge in the morning as my departure lounge.

I do not like this lounge.
