I'm looking at an MF flight that is an S-fare. According to DL, S-fares won't earn any MQDs since it's not on their chart. So if I credit the flight to DL, will I earn anything for my MM status? I think someone mentioned in this thread that if a fare earns $0 MQD then I earn nothing toward my MM status?

Correct, this was my experience last week, 0 MM status on MF S-fare...
I will avoid booking MF flights in the future because of this.

Yeah it stinks, I just went to MSY this week. BNA ATL MSY and only netted 1278 round trip, this will make hitting 5MM really hard. I have been averaging 250K/yr or more, doing one international trip a month and a couple domestic per month. Now those regional trips don't move the needle.

You said that right...getting to 5MM is going to be really difficult. I was moving at a really good clip but without the bonus for class of fare, this will take a while!

Thanks for this. I keep a spreadsheet of all flight info (only way to catch mistakes), and noticed this morning when I try and reconcile the Million Miler numbers with flights taken so far this year, I cannot.

This clarifies it a bit. BUT trying to now find a reliable way to calculate actual airline miles flown according to how Delta calculates this. Tried the mileage calculator on WebFlyer but the numbers do not align with what I am seeing in my Delta account.

Anyone have a link for HOW to best track each flight / go back and look at past flights to determine miles flown as Delta sees it?

Thanks

Great Circle Mapper has always come within a mile or two of DL's numbers for flight miles for me. You don't really need anything fancy when it comes to calculating Million Miler miles now as it is all straight distance with no minimums or class multipliers. There are also no elite bonuses when it comes to Million Miler earn (this was also true when they were MQM based).

Thanks. Since posting this, I also found a calculator on web site airmilescalculator dot com (cannot post URL here yet!). Their distance calculator for all trips taken year to date matches exactly with how Delta calculates my MM increase since 1 Jan.

"Beginning January 1, 2024, SkyMiles Members can earn MQDs on Delta Award Travel tickets operated by Delta partners, in Main Cabin (or equivalent) or above, when booked through any direct Delta channel, with MQDs calculated based on miles redeemed toward the Award Ticket price divided by 100. Government-imposed taxes and fees do not earn MQDs."
Still a bit confused because this seems to be about MQD and not MM. So put another way, any flight earning MQD would count toward MM? Program T&C are not clear on this.

Paid flights earn toward MM; award flights do not.

This is incorrect. Award flights earn towards MM status as long as they are DL Skymiles awards and not BE awards (awards redeemed using partner miles do not count). Basically, anything that earns MQDs also seems to earn towards MM based on a number of reports. As reported a few posts upthread, if there is a partner fare that does not earn MQDs/miles because it is not listed in DL partner earnings tables, it also will not earn towards MM -- https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/36009359-post92.html
Otherwise, partner metal also counts toward MM earn as long as they are revenue fares or booked with DL Skymiles.

I'm just going to leave this here:

Award travel, excluding BE, counts toward MM status

Thanks for the clarification. Progress toward MM is low on my priority list but I can think of a few partner awards that can seriously juice up my numbers.

Thanks for the correction. I was going off of AS and UA, where award flights do not earn toward MM.

Yeah removing the 500-mile minimum has put a dent in future MM earnings for many, as many hops from ATL and DTW are less than 200-300 miles.
