Wow, this is generous. I believe AS has previously positioned 100K as a no-match-to status. Given rollover MQM and the prevalence of the AS card up here, I suspect there will be a lot of new 100Ks in SEA.

Should be additional AmEx Delta cobranded Platinum and Reserve cancellations for the Alaska Airlines Visa Card too bad cant be an easy product conversion regarding the credit line. Glad to see status match for all that were planing to change over to Alaska airlines.

This is wild. So a Platinum who signs up for their $99 credit card gets MVP 100K for a whole year.

And even if you dont have many AS options where you are, fly AA and get OW Emerald benefits? Thats a better status match than Delta to AA direct!

I'll be doing this - Seattle-based and I just need to get the card before the end of the year for status through 2024 with no flying requirements? No-brainer. I would have written AS off before they joined Oneworld, but now it's a compelling alternative to DL.

This probably accelerated my switch away from DL by a year. Now I can cancel my non-DL Platinum card before my AF next year.

This is quite a good deal, when you consider that AS is now a full member of OneWorld.

Love the free market when competitors smell blood. There could be nothing more beneficial for the aggregate consumer. If we could get an all out price war a la LAX, it would be even better.

As a plat who will switch home airports from SJC To PDX in the next few months, this is very timely. I suspected an offer of some kind may happen, but this is even more lucrative than expected!

While this in no way benefits me (already 100K & don't own any ALK), this is one of those deals one should sign up for on general principle. Reminds me of when Marriott announced the SPG takeover, then Hyatt GP offered their Diamond to any SPG Gold & Above via a Tweet (only benefit I ever got from Twitter). Hyatt upon realizing the Gold match to Diamond was overly generous, pulled it back.

So, I'd jump on this, if I were you guys.

Generally agree, with the caveat that Alaska does have once-in-a-lifetime eligibility for matches. If one has no clear plan to make use of the matched status, it may not make sense to burn that opportunity.

I was likely headed toward AS anyway, to it's a no-brainer for me.

Just signed up for the Alaska Air program, their credit card, and the status match. I'm happy to use that for Alaska and their One World partners. Emerald will be an interesting status to explore and enjoy -- much better than Sky Team Elite+.

Will MVP Gold 75k have higher upgrade priority than AA Plat? I'm currently AA plat, and will match with Alaska status. .... Delta!
