Are FAs required to wear name tags/wings as part of uniform?
I just finished an TATL flight with an incredibly rude flight attendant, who also seemed to have no concern for safety with the carts - often steering with one hand and ramming from one side of the aisle to the other. It was so bad that several of us spoke to the purser who said she would send in a report. The purser was wonderful and also encouraged us to file a complaint. I did so, but couldn't provide a name because this particular FA never had her wings/nametag visible at any point during the flight. I mentioned that to the purser, who said she couldn't tell me the FAs name but would add to her report. That got me thinking - is the nametag/wings a uniform requirement??
I should note that the nametags for all other FAs were visible - I made a point to compliment the purser and another FA by name.

My understanding is they are required to wear them at all times. And I say that because I want to called a gate agent by his name and he didnt respond and I kind of looked at him and then he laughed and said I have to be honest thats not my name I had to borrow somebodys name tag because I forgot mine.

For the OP, please write a letter to Delta and mention you spoke with the purser and she is aware of the issues. The purser may or may not write up the crewmember. It’s likely she won’t as there is a code of silence on issues like this with the flight attendants.

The names on their nametags are written in such a small font that they are nearly impossible to read without awkwardly violating their personal space. If you're in an aisle seat, you might have a chance, but from a middle or window seat, no way.

FAs can either request their first or last name on the winged badge, as their ID badge is concealed and tucked into their jacket.
So much for Delta being a upscale brand and providing a premium customer experience. Im sure if Ed was flying coach on this flight and policing his school children with a wooden ruler, said FA would have displayed he/him/she/her name badge.

but the truth is the name on his official ID did not match the name tag, so have fun with your BS😂
lots of people have nicknames, middle names, etc. on their name tag that might not match exactly what is on the badge and theres no consequences.

This. And if you stop by the duty desk because you forgot or lost your wings they give you one that says Delta as the name. Recently theres been a spat of passengers finding FAs on social media after flights by searching unique first name delta and sliding into their DMs so people have been ordering wings with nicknames or alternative names. We are required to wear wings, but we are not required to use our legal name on them.
I say this as a former airline general manager who didn't have the option of using an alternate name and had customers find my personal phone number, Facebook, linked in, etc., sending me obscenity and threat filled messages.

I not so sure about snapping a photo, as if said FA saw this, I can see this getting out of hand very quickly. Best would just to walk away and fly an other airline.
