Wait ATL-SBA?

Doesn't really matter, Delta is way late to the party in SBA. WN has jumped in and all of the majors are flying mainline. Delta will either have to compete on price, or fly empty aircraft into a very competitive market. Maybe they should try SBP.

SBA is nice, would love it if they tossed a SBP as well.

Nice to see SEA-DFW. I understand why DL didn't fly it, but it was a gap in the route network for sure.

Interesting. Somebody at SBA ran right out and updated their web site.

https://flysba.santabarbaraca.gov/flights

And of course the new simplified SkyMiles will attract zillions of Central Coast passengers to Delta.

They will be flying mostly empty planes. The former elites are not going to be giving business here.

They were supposed to launch SEA-DFW and SEA-CMH right after covid hit, then scrapped them. Finally.

DL just started 2X/day CLT-SLC only fairly recently (flips and flops between a 738 and 321), and CLT is only 90 minutes' drive from GSP. I realize I'm applying logic to an airline, and DL in particular, but if DL is only getting 2X/day flights from a much larger market, why would they add something that is probably lower demand from a smaller market? DL is fixing to get essentially all of the expanded A concourse in CLT next year, allegedly with a SC, so if anything I think DL is going to be expanding in CLT and keeping GSPers to the east side of the Mississippi River.

(Technically MSP is west of the Mississippi River, but you get my point. )

Im really happy about the return to Santa Barbara to SLC. The addition to ATL is something else too. Im just curious of what time would the flight to ATL would be. Id guess ATL early AM and a return in evening.

United also doesn't have a hub in the Southeast with up to 7x daily flights from GSP.

Delta has flown SLC-SBA, I have taken that flight, but as far as I know, but I believe never ATL-SBA. A welcome addition, including ATL-RNO

I agree! Delta has ignored the central coast for too long! American, United and Alaska all fly to SBP.
