Reserve Card 2024 Upgrade Priority Declines 1 Position
Ouch. Deval airlines has put Reserve card holders below Million Milers beginning 2024. I am happy for the Deval airlines MM's. My MM status is over at AA, so here's one more reason for me at least, to dump the Reserve card.

THIS. I still don't understand how MM status actually means something now and is not #7, whereas I'm shocked that the cobranded Delta Reserve has less significance. An other reason for ya'll to cancel the Reserve. On one hand Delta wants you to spend on the Reserve, but also decimated any "value" outside of earning 1 MQD for $10 spend. Makes zero sense.

This at least clarifies whether a purchased C+ fare with low underlying coach class will outrank a purchased coach with higher fare class. Looks like going forward, this will be the case and would provide some additional incentive to purchasing a C+ fare (along with ability to SDC to any open C+/coach seat, rather than requiring inventory in original booking class).

If it's actually cabin and not fare class, that's a huge jump for Reserve cardholders as it means someone with a Reserve on a V fare is ahead of the same non-MM Medallion on a Y fare.

Also interesting is that time of upgrade request will pretty much not matter anymore, as how many MQDs you've earned in the current year is above it. Here is the note from the terms:
Beginning January 1, 2024, MQDs earned in the current calendar year will be grouped in increments of 100 MQDs, up to 200,000 total MQDs.

Interesting to see If someone held their reserve card into 2025 and not a medallion member if more upgrades would clear especially in non hub cities bc of markedly fewer medallions. My guess is yes but not enough to make a difference on routes that matter most bc a non hub traveler would eventually have to connect through a hub city

I'm most interested if the change in verbiage from Fare Class to Cabin Purchased is intentional or just because whatever person updated this doesn't know or understand the difference.
If intentional that would be a shock, meaning that a somebody in the same medallion group on a full Y gets no priority over a V fare. Would likely work out well for me as a 2MM, but I doubt that is the intent and does nothing to incentivize more expensive tickets.

This also sets up nicely for transcon PS, though I'm a little surprised that they're not putting FO in PS ahead of DM in Y.
FCM counting for upgrade priority is noteworthy.
