Using the Delta lounge after a flight?
We are flying back into DTW next year after a cruise and I was thinking of getting a bite at a lounge before we drive back to the west side of Michigan.
We are flying Delta on a regular and a companion ticket from my lovely wife’s Delta Platinum.
I have a $100 LoungeBuddy credit from my Amex Green and was hoping to pay for the lounge using that.
Is this a doable strategy?
Thanks.

Nope. You can't pay the $50 per pax DL Plat Amex Sky Club entrance fees with a different card than the Delta Plat Amex card -- "The Delta SkyMiles Platinum or Platinum Business Card must be used as the payment method to receive the per-visit rate." Also, DL did away with the Sky Club $59 Single Visit Passes back in November 2018.

Looks like you have to pay for lounge access through LoungeBuddy to qualify for the $100 Amex statement credit according to T&C's. The only lounge at DTW where that is possible is the LH lounge which is over in the Evans terminal -- https://www.loungebuddy.com/DTW?source=homepage
There's a Minute Suites in the McNamara terminal, but you can't use LoungeBuddy to pay for access (and it's probably not what you are looking for anyway).

The LH lounge closes at 8PM which is when our flight arrives so we are out of luck.
But I do mean it, you have been very helpful, it is just that the answer is disappointing.

Yep, LH is in Evans which is a completely separate terminal from McNamara terminal where Delta is located. There is regular bus service between the terminals, but it is landside, not airside, and thus would require somehow reclearing TSA just to access LH lounge.

Which wouldn't be possible anyway, as a departure boarding pass from DTW would be required.

At MSP you can return airside even if your flying is completed if you want to return to eat. Of course you can’t do it if you have large luggage that you’ve already picked up from baggage claim.
