Can You Explain This Odd Seating?

Looking to book a Delta non stop JFK>FCO on or about May 8, 2024. The flight time is around 4:40pm arriving in Rome around 7:30 the next morning.

When I access the available seats it shows that almost every AISLE seat both right and left sides, rows AB and HJ are already occupied……..NO WINDOW SEATS ONLY AISLE SEATS RIGHT DOWN THE MAIN AND ECONOMY SECTIONS. THE WINDOW SEATS ARE ALL UNOCCUPIED.

Possibly a group has a window phobia but this also occurs on several other days prior to May 8, same flight and time.

ANY IDEAS? Thanks

Perhaps upcoming equipment change, or those are blocked as preferred seats that require skymiles status.

No, doesn't look like anything "unusual" going on other than the fact that there are a bunch of people on the flight that have taken most of the non-preferred outer pair aisle seats in main cabin. But yes, that's somewhat unusual, not sure how they got the seats toward the back that should have been blocked. And it's probably also unusual to even have sold that many seats (or have that many reservations) ~11 months in advance. And FWIW, I see similar on the 6th and 5th, but not the 4th and 7th. Is there some event in FCO maybe around that time? Could explain a group booking. A basketball tournament? :D
