I haven't been since pre-covid, but I don't remember it being loud. Maybe I've got rose colored glasses on? lol

Looks like it's been renovated since I was last able to use it, but I like that terminal and curved glass walls and ceilings. The lounge in on the ground floor (?, or at least under the main floor, instead of SkyClubs being usually on roofs). It's different. There's an up close, almost intimate, view of the airplanes which I enjoyed. It always seemed quieter and calmer than most clubs/lounges I've visited. Maybe it's because I'm usually just getting off a TATL flight and having a place to relax is what I want?

The 2F lounge has been relocated and is no longer underground. It spans the main level of the departing gates and the level above. It’s probably 5 times as large as the old one used to be.

I have been to the new 2F lounge several times in the past year and I haven’t experienced high levels of noise or crowding. But different times of day may yield different kinds of experiences.

So this is the newest of the AF lounges?

Yes but you are unlikely to access it given that it’s on the opposite side of the airport and you would have to clear security for that area. It’s also a good 45 minutes to M gates most days. Passport control and security to K, L, M gates can be long sometimes. I don’t recommend attempting 2F unless you have a lot of time ahead of you. By the way, Air France lounges in 2E are nice and well stocked.

My experience at CDG is that the lounge agents won't give you access to lounges apart from the one closest to your departure gate. So even if you were to make it to the 2F lounge, if you are departing from the M gates you would be denied access to the (very nice) 2F lounge.

I was in the 2E M lounge last week for the first time. It is head and shoulders better than most SkyClubs. Plenty of room, plenty of seating (lots of window views) good hot and cold food choice, and as much access to beverages as you need. Excellent lounge.

OOoooo. Then I take back everything I wrote. My last two transits in Europe were via AMS (2022 and 23) instead of CDG (I still prefer CDG over AMS). Thanks for the update! I'm looking forward to my next trip a bit more now. :)

Why CDG over AMS?
