Good find. Thank you. This could start on Feb 1st. Seems like new stuff at Delta often starts on Feb 1st.

I guess I have to call in to downgrade both my reserve and platinum cards to gold.

15% off all SkyMiles awards for Amex cardholder

Announced today. Previously rumored benefit for the Reserve card only appears to apply to Amex's entire lineup. Applicable for the cardholder only.

So basically around a 0.2 increase in cents per point on domestic bookings for cardholders. Not bad I guess.

The good news out of all this is AMEX is starting to push on Delta. Look at the skyclub changes, nothing negative for Amex holders and now they are realizing Amex is getting a lot of complaints that award miles are worthless, why do I need Amex for skypesos since I can't use them? With all that said will award prices drop in 6 months when the recession starts.

Of course the flights I booked a week and a half ago with miles are higher even with the discount than they were... Oh well.

My trip last month was 18k on Delta in Y nonstop or 18k on AA in F with a connection. Flight was just long enough that I picked the connecting option in F.

But I have a ticket for an April flight on DL in Y that was 14k nonstop or 20k+ in Y on AA but with a connection.

So I am gonna fly whomever is most convenient and best value.

This does, however, make me wonder if I should consider getting a DL amex card again. Haven't had one in like 15 years....

I guess I'll be the first to ask the question... i've got a flight booked on miles for August. Will they take 15% off what i originally booked or would I have to cancel and rebook. (Obviously will be higher now)
