on a scale of 1-10 epic fails, this probably gets the "didn't pay enough so got stuck in a seat which equates to what was paid." Basic? probably.
Freshwoman. smh. |

Well, I hate to break the news to you but nothing in your post would make me quit flying an airline. It looks to me like you’re landing and takeoffs are equal which is the goal
There’s nothing you posted out here that couldn’t havr happened on another airline. Oh and by the way in 2022 they are flight attendants . |

I showed your post to my neighbor who's a Delta flyer and a born and raised Louisiana girl.
She asked me to let you know how badly she felt about what you went through and said tell them - "Bless Your Heart!" |

It may be a surprise to you but the main job of a flight attendant is not to serve food! Their real training and expertise comes in, in the event of an emergency! Hopefully you’ll never have to see exactly how that works!

That's part of their duties but it is not any bigger a part than the rest of it. If it were they would have kept hiring only men for the job well past the time they did under the belief that men would better manhandle passengers if needed, as was the case in the earliest times of commercial flight. Everybody on the plane gets a nautical term. The Safety Officer doesn't serve customers' needs or prepare food. They are stewards and stewardresses, as that is 99% of what they do, and the role of Safety Officer is folded into their duties because it is so rarely of any benefit.

No, in a 30+ year career I traveled quite a bit, most of it overseas and most in Asia. I think all the US airlines would fail if faced with global competition.

Can't wait to hear how youd find the largest airlines in Asia...like indigo and AirAsia economy.
(or... China Eastern, China Southern, ...) |

Their position on the ship is Steward. |

(or... China Eastern, China Southern, ...) Yeah, good model to follow there. |

In Asia, weather or ATC never impact flights. And customers flying economy receive white glove service.
The first five airlines with delays right now are in China. I do agree that in Y, SQ and the like is more comfortable than their American counterparts for international flights, but cannot speak to their domestic routes, which may be nicer still than the US, but again, I cannot speak to it. |

When I was young and growing up in the North, I had a friend that took a certain pride in Delta, which he used to get to Disney World. He figured he could show all those boys from New York City how to get down South.
Flash forward to 2022. My humble, platinum status comfort+ transcontinental seat came with power in the overhead panel which I didn't use ONCE! We slept in darkness for most of the entirety of a 5-hour journey to New York until the sun came up. That was not the only thing that worked on my IFE controls. Conveniently we could call for a flight attendant to inform them of lack of problems, like a perfectly good USB port. The IFE itself did not have to be rebooted at all, the flight tracker was one of the many things worth watching. One of the times a flight attendant came to check on us I thanked them for the refreshments and snacks. His reaction was basically gratitude and assurance. When you are running a business, employees taking care of the customers is a wonderful sign. Delta’s air and ground crews seemed very spirited, as if life had turned out exactly as hoped and, hey, this is a job I love. Even though I live in the South and hear it all the time, let me say there is nothing that sounds as lovely as kindness done with an Atlanta drawl. I have yet to describe the most exciting features of this Trip. For this transcontinental route, Delta mostly flies roomy 767-300s. (For one thing it means this airline strategically reserves funds instead of investing in capital stock.) The thing you must remember about the 767 is that even though the interior cabin had been updated, for structural reasons the middle overhead bins are not as spacious but I don't bring large carry ons so this isn't an issue. The updating consisted of the equivalent of a new coat of paint and replacing the entire cabin. Delta’s economy cabin in a 767 is configured as a 2-3-2, meaning for 57% of the economy seats it sells, those passengers will NOT have a middle seat to contend with. No wonder on the morning of the flight so many of the passengers looked refreshed. Also some passengers saved $30 and gate checked their bags for free! I take full responsibility for having planned this trip well. I was heading home from a conference in Vegas and took a 5 hour layover, and a transcontinental flight over a 3 hour direct flight on Frontier. I had no delays and everything went according to plan. Experienced travelers will know what happened next, I spent my layover in the lounge and my connection was slightly delayed so I just had one more cocktail. Then we made up time en route so I ended up getting home on time. My luggage arrived promptly and I went home. What do I have to complain about? Nothing. Fly Delta Jets |
