Best skymiles credit card for Europeans

Hello, I am resident in the Netherlands and GM or PM on delta depending on the travel year. I earn this purely on flying so without having a creditcard I’m missing out on a lot of miles.
Without a US social security number etc I can’t get the skymiles Amex card.
So my question is what would be the best credit card for earning delta miles for a Dutch resident?
Thanks

I don't know about that, but I can tell you that American Express isn't widely accepted in Germany and much of Europe, so you may not be missing out on as much as you might think.

You’re right for small places, but most flights, hotels and big expenses Amex is quite widely accepted.

Flights and large/international hotels, yes. Restaurants and consumer goods (furniture, bicycles), not as much.

Also, I can't speak for the landscape of alternative in Europe, but in the US using a credit card to directly earn miles is a pretty terrible value proposition. The only spend I put on a DL card is to earn MQM and waive MQD.

You mean as opposed to earning Chase / Amex points that can be converted to miles? Or cycling through cards for the signup bonuses?

It is actually possible to get a US Amex card without a SSN if you have credit history in one of a few select other countries. It seems the Netherlands is not on that list, but if by any chance you spent time in any of the ones that are maybe it might work: https://www.americanexpress.com/us/c.../us-newcomers/

Or even just cash back. You would have to take a pretty outrageous view of the valuation of SkyPesos to say you're getting more than 2% back on a DL card, and even for the things which categorize, you can usually do much better elsewhere.

I never use my Platinum for that stuff, and I live in the U.S. I use it for airfare, Amex offers, and the cell-phone insurance. Since the OP is looking to maximize points, it might work.
