LGA SkyClub and Terminal - best in Delta system?
Walked through briefly this AM for the first time. Aside from some lengthy walks, seems like this is tops for now. SkyClub is big and spacious (though it seems like it was fairly busy this AM and probably gets packed quickly) and there plenty of cool dining options on the terminal. Security seems to be very well laid out, with SkyPriority, PreCheck and Clear all well delineated.
I haven’t seen LAX yet but this seems tops at the moment. Should get better when SkyClub gets expanded

The one thing I dislike about these “headhouse” terminal renovations is that there are long walks to everything now

Yes, you were probably assigned gates in the 80s. If you have a departure from that area (which is the former Terminal D concourse), you have to walk from the new headhouse to essentially the first-new LGA concourse (dubbed Concourse G opened a few years ago); then you have to walk through temporary hallways to the gates. It's a solid 15 minute walk, but it's a temporary condition until the next phases of construction.

When the rebuild is complete, the 80s gates will be the best gates with the shortest walk. But until the old terminal gets torn down, you have to go the long way around.
I prefer LAX. Not only for style and amenities, but you get to see such a wide variety of planes out the window. In just 10 minutes at the LAX skyclub I saw all the following land: LX 747, Emirates A380, DL A350 and Qatar 777. Won't see any of those at LGA
