Delta help with 074 ticket

In the past I was able to get help from Delta when KLM was being difficult with one of their tickets. They're being even more insufferable than usual and refusing to change the dates of my flight. Can Delta still help with this? They said no when I called, but also said they were never able to, so I'm not sure what to believe. I seem to recall there being a specific Joint Venture "desk"

I was told something similar at a Delta airport service desk a couple of weeks ago, they said they couldn't even see the reservation since it had no DL segments. It's odd though that KL is refusing the change dates, I thought all their tickets are still flexible and even refundable to a flight credit voucher.

One would think they'd KLM would change it, but you'd have to pay the fare difference.

DL might not be able to calculate the fare difference if it's not their ticket. Hence they might not be able to do anything unless the customer qualifies for a fare difference waiver. They might not be able to know what would be an even exchange on a partner's ticket, especially if it's more complicated that changing the return date using the same fare class inventory after the outbound has been flown.

KLM/AF took back control of their reservation/ CS before CV19 hit. DL is limited in what it can do unless ticket was purchased via DL.

Refusing changes for at all or for free?

Sounds accurate. Just have to pay fare difference--no penalty.

DL still handles KL (and AF) with regards to travel agency sales support--but there are a some unusual circumstances where they still defer to the (overseas) KL team for definitive answers.

AF/KL took back support from DL just prior to CV19. They felt DL was too generous with waivers/favors. While there is a JV desk, even they are more limited in what can do.

If you call KLM US # you no longer route to DL.

Yup as others said, its a KLM ticket so you have to deal with them. DL isn't going to be able to do anything, especially their front line call center/service that can barely handle their own 006 ticket issues...

By policy, Delta agents are no longer able to handle changes on KLM 074 tickets unless a schedule change or IRROPS has occurred. Most Delta agents no longer have access to AFKL systems, and newbie agents have no knowledge of what was possible in the past (or possible in the present).

If you're having trouble KLM USA Reservations, try calling KLM in Europe. Or Air France in France...

They have not with respect to travel agency sales. DL provided assistance on behalf of AF/KL for 057 tickets and 074 tickets throughout COVID and continues to today. I speak with them several times a week. Only in the case of rare policy exceptions do they require the request go through KL's waiver request portal.

KLM Canada number is IME the best way to get a KLM/AF agent. (They handle both at same number) Calling KLM Europe/ US is likely to get a "Thank you for calling. Our wait time exceeds 30 minutes. Please try calling again later. We will now disconnect the call. Goodbye." message.
