The OP's comment is a fair one.

FC ticket prices are exorbitant. The Covid risk is better understood, and probably diminishing. It's time for FC service, including hanging coats, to return.

OP is also welcome to go to airlines that DO have those things instead of whining about a cup of cheap booze

I've been in F on a few segments recently where the F/A offered to take coats. Is that not the formal policy now in F on DL?

FAs hang coats again. I've been offered on all my recent flights.

In complete agreement that PDBs need to return. As do blankets and pillows.

I am not aware they ever stopped hanging coats as a policy.

But IME without a PDB service they are much more likely to forget or not notice your coat during boarding. If they forget, they usually notice and apologize when doing meal service.

Delta used to offer the service pre-pandemic; the food and other aspects of first that differentiate it from other classes of service may also be considered cheap to you, but it is a part of the product.

Pondering when Delta will return service on a forum that has a whole thread devoted to PDB is whining?
Customers always have a choice of other airlines that offer things Delta does not, but OP is simply asking when Delta will bring back a service competition already has. Delta brought back PDB on D1 already.

Definitely think it's time to bring back PDBs, but it looks like AA/UA PDB service right now is pretty hit-and-miss. PDB back! On my flight at least.
If they are going to bring it back, it should really be uniform and not up to whether or not crew feels like it.

Yes...I totally agree. I flew flew my first two Delta segments last night this calendar year. I have moved most all of my travel to AA which has been 13 segments and almost 20,000 BIS miles. I only booked DL because it was the really only thing that fit my schedule to travel last night and paid $1695 (that was the main cabin fare and used an RUC to upgrade to a $2,200 FC seat) for a one-way GRB to PHX due to spring break travel. I actually had better service on the Endeavor regional flight to MSP than the mainline flight to PHX. I was seated in C+ on a RJ and had a beer, the FA asked if I wanted another when she got back to the front of the plane. On the mainline flight there was no PDB of course, but they were handing out sanitizing wipes. Asked to have my jacket hung up...was told there were no hangers on the plane. There was one pass of a decent snack basket and one round of drinks (in plastic cup) in first on an almost 3-hour flight. It was outside of meal time so no meal, I did ring my call button for a second glass of wine, which I received. But the FA made no attempt to check on any other passengers. This is not whining...it is an expectation that if you are paying $800-$2,000 OW for first class these days...you should get some better level of service.

While AA is not necessarily the cream of the crop...they certainly have a better FC experience for those customer who pay for F.

Or, alternatively, become a whiner/winer on another airline...

Sorry, couldn't resist.

There should be some noticeable differences between the fare classes.

I don't agree, while technically the terms and conditions of all the loyalty programs pretty much say "We can change things and do whatever we want" - there is something to be said for chasing a particular airline status with promises of some benefits and then not delivering. It isn't actually as simple as just switching, for instance, I am AA ExPlat, if I switch to Delta I am nothing. I could do a status challenge / match, but even then I'll be a rung below and with no tiebreaking EQD/Loyalty Points/Whatever Delta uses for upgrades. So no, it isn't REALLY as easy as just to switch.

And PDB being Covid related is stupid, you're going to be up in those people's grill for several hours anyway, being face to face 20 minutes earlier is not likely to change much.

Fortunately, DL has not gone that route yet. It's possible people on a challenge are ranked lower, but I doubt it. They are ranking those on extended status from last year lower this year, but they have never made any indications of discrimination against challenge people. Amex Reserve cardholders can be a factor, but only have status level and fare class in hierarchy.
