no PDB (and no amenity kit) on D1 JFK to LAX flight 808 on 6/2/22. We were on time (though the earlier flights were weather delayed because of mid afternoon T-storms in NYC). Boarding started early actually. They boarded from the front door, instead of the second door, so everyone had to go through D1, maybe that the excuse, but Ive been on flights like that before and still got a PDB. And the amenity kits are alway sitting on the seat before boarding starts. So I dont know what happened but kinda BS for what the D1 seats cost.

I wouldn't get that excited about this.
First of all FAs and GAs are notoriously bad sources of information so I'm not sure I would trust what they are saying unless they have an internal memo they are reading off of.
Second, this is actually a downgrade in my opinion. The benefit of the plastic PDB is that the FAs typically don't bother collecting them for takeoff if you aren't finished because they usually don't view it as a risk if it's not held down. So you don't have to chug your PDB if you board late.
With glass they 100% will need to collect because loose glass on takeoff is a projectile danger.

I'm not enough of a connoisseur to care that much. Sure I'd like it if they had Captain Morgan (particularly Captain Morgan Spiced Rum) or the ability to unleash the Kraken but I'm fine with a Bacardi & Coke on the plane or in the terminal. I don't drink much liquor besides rum and I can't say I enjoy wine in the morning so on morning flights a Rum & Coke was my go-to.

PDB's? I remember them. Haven't seen a one on all my flights since 3/19. A month ago I was served wine with my lunch on a MCO-DTW flight in a flimsy plastic cup. The kind of cup where if you hold it tight the wine flows out like lava. Yet on my outbound trip DTW-MCO, wine was served in glasses. SMH

I dont really like OJ. I will mix vodka and iced tea in the SC in the morning to make a self-made Twisted Tea but they dont serve iced tea on the plane so that isnt an option either, unless I bring an ice tea onboard and ask for a single serving of vodka and pour it into my tea, which I havent yet tried.
