I see the allure of a D1 lounge to compete with UA and AA. But outside of the D1 departure times, what use is an empty D1 lounge when the Skyclub next door is at capacity and a line out the door, at 6am?

While bulk of departures are in afternoon/evening at JFK (although there are sill JFK-SEA/LAX/SFO D1 flights in the morning), LAX is pretty much spread out throughout the day with mostly LAX-JFK flights. There are also LAX-DCA and LAX-HND D1 flights in the morning.

I didn't think we were able to access the VS Clubhouse unless we were flying D1 or STE+ to LHR only out of JFK on VS metal?

Isnt the JFK D1 lounge supposed to be the same
size, or larger, than the current SkyClub? Only way that really makes sense is if Diamonds also have access.

Why do you say that? Polaris and Flagship lounges are only accessed by Polaris + Flagship pax as well. Have a D1 lounge would alleviate connecting traffic from D1 flights from using Skyclubs. Also, they could sell day passes for skyclub/cc members to alleviate some crowding and drive incremental revenue when the D1 lounges aren't particularly full.

Thats true for UA but not AA. Flagship Lounges also grant entry based on oneworld status.

You can access the US clubhouses when flying on any airline with an Amex Platinum, since they are now operated by Plaza Premium. Ive used it in BOS and JFK when flying on JetBlue, as well as in JFK on Delta.

Bypass the line, get wheelchair service. The lines are just ridiculous.

Do passengers in wheelchairs bypass the line to enter SCs? If so, are their traveling companions/families given the same privileges? This seems very unfair to me.

Many of them already benefit from the "miracle flights" where they board in a wheelchair and quickly *run* off (often pushing other passengers out of the way) when deplaning at the destination.

Yes, my uncle needs a wheelchair and we bypassed the lines at JFK three times, the wheelchair person takes you straight in and up the elevator at t4.
