Schedule Changes Splitting Us/Unable to Modify
I've had quite a few schedule changes pop up the past 2 weeks, including on a couple upcoming trips with the family (wife and 1 year old, so infant in arms). For each change, it split us into window/aisle instead of sitting by each other (which would make sense if we had been in a pair on a 2-3 and not moved to a 3-3 aircraft). The issue is for each of them when I try to change the seats so we're sitting together, the seat maps are either 'view only' (including for changes made over a week ago still) or I get an error message that we have a special reservation and can't sit in an exit row (which, I'm not trying to sit in an exit row, I'm just trying to move my wife and daughter next to me in the same C+ row we are already in). Then I'm forced to call in since I yet again can't make changes online.
Anyone else having constant issues with seat maps, schedule changes, or modifying flights online? |
Cannot comment on the IT seat issue other than to say while things are "fluid" over the weekend it may be broken.
On the good side, you are not really in a bad position even if not resolved. Window and aisle seats in the same row are easy to swap as nobody wants the middle between you. |

Have you clicked accept changes? Till do can't change seats. Clicking doesnt effect ability to ask for rebooking. "Acknowledge " would be better name for button.

When you get seat maps as "view-only", this can mean that - due to the schedule change - your reservation and your ticket don't match anymore. Call DL and ask them to verify that your reservation is "check-in ready" - that is, that the flights you are booked on match your ticket.

I also have had several similar issues, including our seats being moved to adjacent exit rows (which young kids in car seats can’t sit in), or being split up, etc.
The real issue is that these equipment/schedule changes are occurring so close in, that there are no longer enough unclaimed non-middle seats to change to where everyone can be seated together. Very frustrating indeed. |
