Should Delta introduce a "Flight Pass"?
https://flightpass.alaskaair.com/asa/subscriptions - should DL do the same?

I don't think its a good idea unless they can get more fleet up in the air in order to meet demand for subscription.
TBH I'm not a fan of the subscription program. Imagine all the cancellation fees/hidden fees, etc they'll slap on. Lets not give them ideas

most of the chatter on the AS board seems to indicate otherwise

AS 75K here (and DL earned Plat and top tier status with another legacy) - I am intrigued by the new program, as long as it can save me $. (AS is still mileage based)
I love AS. The only down side is I am east coast based, and its network is really small here - heck I qualified for 75K last year without even flying AS from my home airport(s).
AS has one of the better soft product, and I would rate it a bit higher than DL.
For DL, it wouldn't matter too much on the flight pass as long as spending is still a requirement. [I don't do airline credit cards]

On average. No. Airlines are a lot smarter now than they used to be, so they’re not going to make mistakes on pricing of pass products of any sort. So, they can issue them, but they’re unlikely to be something Flyertalkers would get excited about.

They're almost as good as Delta for domestic travel these days, IMHO. Smaller F cabins, so upgrades are harder, but reliability has been about on par with Delta over the last few years and AS now is a member of OneWorld for international travel.
The flagship AS lounge in Seattle is pretty nice now, too.
With more west coast frequencies on a lot of routes, if I was commuting, I would probably switch my allegiances from DL to AS.

Simple answer...NO. Do you know of any airline that creates a program that truly benefits the customer? My guess is that similar to all other airline programs, once you read the thicket of terms and conditions, the "deal" is not a deal.

These days, I have a choice of sardine cans. What I want is a better experience.

Dang you got there with the private jet comment before me. I love dropping hints of private jet all the time. (aspirational goal). Sometimes one can book one of those EAS planes and it's like a private plane with luck, Most often it's a private turboprop though and between obscure locations and a nearby hub of course.
