Exclamation New Policy? Flight Attendants giving "Red Warning Cards" to unruly passengers!

Flew LAX-JFK this afternoon and there was another passenger sitting 2 rows ahead of me who received multiple visits from the flight attendant for: refusing to keep her mask on when not eating, putting her feet up on the dividers, littering crumbs on the floor around her seat, and talking loudly to her seatmate.

This continued for about 45 minutes until another flight attendant arrived and handed what looked like a Red Warning card to the passenger who was misbheaving. All of a sudden she began behaving, continuously apologizing, and acting much more civilized out of no where.

I had never seen any "red cards" given by flight attendants and thought it was a feedback card. To my surprise upon landing at JFK, Law Enforcement Officers were waiting for her upon deplaning at the jetbridge

I asked the FA what the card was about, and they just said that Delta has started issuing violation/warning cards to unruly passengers as a last resort, and that Law Enforcement Officers will deal with the passenger upon arriving at the final destination. I searched online to see if this was new or true, and this reddit post now shows it is true!

Has anyone else seen these red cards? I'm so glad something is being done with these trash passengers. Looking forward to the national no-fly list

Well I haven't seen the 'red cards' but I was on a flight just a couple days ago where the pilot came on and asked everyone to remain seated since law enforcement would be greeting the plane for a few passengers. Not sure what happened, but several pax got off the plane and were talking with police in the jetbridge as rest of us were deplaning.

May be a new card design but the concept nothing new. I saw a maskless pax given no fly paperwork very early in the pandemic.

The mask thing is legit issue. However the rest sounds like BS and could make FA seem like on power trip.

I think the cards are notice that police will be meeting you.

I love this. I think it helps the FAs seem more official and its less confrontational because they can firmly but politely explain the card and that the issue has been escalated to the appropriate authorities

this is exactly it. if a FA has to come over multiple times, it's clear that the pax isn't interested in listening anyway. the card is basically the FA's way of saying "I tried, you're out of my hands now"

Red is considered a lucky color in some countries/cultures. For example, red envelopes are given at weddings.

Exactly! Please keep mask on and you must obey to the flight crew instructions. Follow the rules! If they don't listen to FA and they will give a warnings. If they don't behave well. LEO wait for you at the gate. If she/he kicks off the flights and put on no-fly list permanently.

Wow, an Instant collectible for us history buffs. Can I get one off the Bay or do I have to earn it to maintain its value

They should give a yellow card as a warning, and then a red card comes with ejection from the plane.

Someone should be able to chat up a flight attendant and get a pic of one of these within a day or two . . .

If you really want to provide a picture here, just misbehave enough on a DL flight. Good luck!
