it's the concourse attached to the checkin/security area - the two "wings" that spread out from the security area are the T gates. You don't go down the escalators from security to access them - you just turn left or right after security. If you look at the map of ATL labeled "Domestic Terminal" on their website, the T gates are the grayed out part on the right side, which is just after TSA.
To get from the T gates to the B gates, you go down the escalators (you can't miss it - there will be a herd of people doing so) and then either take train two stops (even if there's a wait for the next train, it shouldn't take more than 3-4 mins to get to B from T), or you can walk it. The train runs parallel to the underground hallway connecting all the concourses. The signs are pretty clear, so it shouldn't be confusing at all.
Depending on how quickly you walk, my guess would be 8 minutes or so, a little quicker if you talk the moving walkways. Otherwise, if you don't feel like walking that far, just take the train.

Form the T gates you take two down escalators and are at the same place as pax entering from the domestic terminal. From there you have the same choice of train vs walk as all entering pax have.
The train will almost always be faster if you care about time. But it is an easy walk under 10 minutes if you are not in a time crunch and like to walk vs sit.

All the TSA (domestic side) lanes dump into the same general area. The pre-clear lanes will be closer to T gates by a 100 feet or so. is all.

Agree with those who say the walk is better (even if a bit slower than the train). The trains are back to being crammed full and as much fun as that is, a two terminal walk is quite doable. You'll have moving walkways, and as an above poster said, the rainforest and the African art is actually really cool. The walk between A-B (the forest) is my favorite walk in the airport.

Another fan of the Flight Paths rainforest tunnel and it’s good for your circulatory system to get a bit of walking in on data when you’re otherwise largely immobile in a plane seat.

The walk between E and F is a bit strange as some of it looks a bit like a construction zone, but I generally enjoy walking between terminals in ATL. I'd guess that the distance between A and F is about a half hour at a stroll pace.

Yeah that sounds about right, I did T to F in about 23 but I am a fast walker.

At least E to F is signed now. It used to be you had to walk past the giant ear of corn gate in E for a bit and then, like Harry Potter's Platform 9 3/4, the tunnel entrance would suddenly just be there. I knew Diamond ATL regulars who had no idea that tunnel existed back then.
