Not what I had in mind -- not generally a fan of gose/sour but spicy cucumber IPA...

Continuing my Hoppy Monday, Tezcat IPA, made with tortilla chips!

EDIT: hey! Get your own beer to drown in

Hard to blame the bug. That beer looks tasty.

That looks delicious. Happy birthday! I’d also prefer the hamachi substituted for shrimp. I like cooked shrimp, but it’s never done anything for me as sushi.

thanx! it was *fabulous*

I like tempura shrimp in various combination rolls, and I’m ok with ebi (shrimp nigiri) bc at least it’s cooked, but having had it a couple times** I’m now a “no thanks” to “sweet shrimp” (raw; amaebi and botan-ebi)

** a few years ago I was at an El Segundo restaurant where the itame-san (sushi chef) offered a Japanese-speaking foursome at the bar the opportunity to select their own shrimp from the live tank (he gave me one also )

Happy B'Day.

The only item missing for me is Saba (Spanish Mackerel)

That would be 8 X 22 ounces of beer.

Happy (and hoppy) belated birthday to jrl!

I have a busy day of work ahead of me, then going to JFK tonight to pick someone up. I realized yesterday it is going to be in the middle of rush hour so I'm mentally preparing myself.

I'm not either, but dill pickle? That's something I'd try.

Wouldn't it be more convenient to pick someone up closer to home, perhaps in a neighborhood bar so that the person is likely to live nearby?

Yes, but the people I'm picking up are going to be at JFK and not a neighborhood bar.

Oh, you said you were just picking someone up, and I had been admiring your confidence in that you didn't say that you hoped to pick someone up or would be trying to pick someone up. Also, you didn't mention that it would be specific people, and I assumed the JFK would probably mean that the person is locationally undesirable for you anyway (unless the person would be willing to share free flight benefits with you, since in that case the person could live close to any major airport).
