Damn, I'm flying Wed 7/13, BOS-SFO, and the preselect isn't there (it was there the past few days, but, broken, now its gone entirely).
If anyone does fly BOS-SFO in First, I'd love to know what the menu is!

No preselect entree option for my SLC-MSP later this month, although I was able to request a special meal. I usually pick the Asian veggie meal anyway, so I was glad to be able to make that choice .

Where are folks seeing the pre-select? Only in the app, or on web somewhere?

I thought Delta was going to allow pre-orders starting this month, or did that change?

On the app it shows up under account, my trips. I'm not sure how far in advance they will allow. A flight toward the end of the month does not have the option yet, so perhaps a week in advance? Not sure.

Here's the meal info on my YUL-DTW-AMS-STR trip on July 5th.
YUL-DTW: multiple drink runs by the crew as well as a couple of snack basket runs. For a lunchtime flight this was a poor offering. Sandwich in the photo below was purchased at the airport.

DTW-AMS: I had pre-ordered the braised lamb. It was probably the best main course I've ever had on an aircraft! The rest of the meal was, however, terrible. A pre-dinner drink was served along with a weird mix of cheese, olives and very soggy cashews. Starter was a mushroom soup, which i didn't even bother with, and salad was this weird/terrible avocado on beans, on this white cream substance that tasted like it had expired months ago. Dessert was a very simple scoop of vanilla ice cream.
I skipped breakfast in order to maximize sleep, so no photos of that meal.

AMS-STR: For comparison, this is what KLM served on a 1-hour flight.

PreCOVID-19, the rule was seven days before scheduled departure of the D1 segment (like clockwork) to 24 hours before scheduled departure.
If DL follows the T-24 deadline, it will mean that those buying coach tickets and hoping for D1 upgrades with GUCs won't be able to select meals in advance.

Transatlantic steerage today (LHR-ATL): a choice of rigatoni or Mexican chicken. I got the rigatoni, figuring it would be the more edible of the two. Small portion of pasta in a watery tomato sauce with some chopped olives and a few shreds of melted cheese. My travel companion went for the chicken and it was the saddest, tiniest piece of poultry I’ve ever seen, served with corn and Cajun potatoes (...?). On the side we got two mealy tomato slices with a spoonful of lettuce and two mozzarella nuggets. Apparently this counts as a salad. Dessert was a mini carton of salted caramel ice cream.
I had every intention of grabbing supplemental food at LHR but it took us 4 hours (yes, 4) to go through baggage check and security and we barely made it to the gate for boarding. I’m in the air still, so hungry I’m ready to eat my pillow and blanket.

Austin catering is back baby!
On my AUS-SEA flight, the options were between braised beef, shrimp poke bowl, or impossible burrito. Of course I went with the braised beef, the tenderloin was very tender and tasted good, though the portion could’ve been bigger, the vegetables were good, the salad was good, and the dessert (which was some kind of blueberry tart) was excellent! PDBs were served but very spotty, only the first row was served and we had to get the FA to take our orders. FEBO was present, and though I didn’t receive an option to pre-select my meal I’m glad I chose the middle row!

Strange ... I still see no option to pre-select, flying in First Class, BOS-SFO, on Wed (so within the 24 hours - 7 days window).

YUL-DTW is only 530 miles and nowhere near the 900 mile threshold -- - Great Circle Mapper
