Current 2022 First Class meal service status -- [NOTE - all D1 flights, domestic and international, receive hot meal service]. FC meal service consists of plated meals (including hot options) between hubs and to/from most larger stations (exception stations listed below only receive cold meal box options) on flights over 900 miles which depart before 9PM (scheduled). Pre-selection is available on routes with plated meal offerings, while it is not available on cold meal box routes. In addition, flights over 2300 miles will receive meal service in FC for departures after 9PM. Snack boxes are generally offered on redeye flights under 2300 miles. Meal service is not provided on flights under 900 miles.

Current exception stations where only cold meal boxes (with no pre-selection) are offered in FC on 900+ mile flights (both to and from station):
ABQ, AUA, EGE, ELP, EYW, GEG, IAD, JAC, MCI, OAK, PLS, PSC, PUJ, SAT, TUS, YYZ, YUL, YVR

I have been on multiple recent flights with shelf stable "RON" snack boxes in F listed as Breakfast.

I have yet to see a lime on a domestic F flight. I am still borrowing them from the SkyClubs for my G&Ts

When can we expect to see Domestic F pre-ordering returned? I'm also just so annoyed at the time it has taken for Delta to restore basic pre-pandemic service. Over two years and counting... And each installment is treated as innovation...

Four flights last week. FEBO observed on all four.

DCA-MSP (Breakfast) 3 options, warm quiche, warm egg sandwich, cold oats. I did the oats. It was good.
MSP-SEA (Lunch) 3 options, impossible burger, grilled veggies and couscous (hot), cold salad with chicken. I did the grilled veggies. Excellent dish.
SEA-MSP (Lunch) 3 options, chicken with farro salad, impossible burger and I can’t recall the third item. I did the chicken with farro. Good dish.
MSP-DCA (Dinner) 3 options, beef short rib, ravioli, or cold salad with chicken. I did the short rib. Good dish.

With the exception of breakfast, all meals came with a slice of blueberry cheesecake. It was nice to see a plated dessert vs a packaged item, but it would be nice to see a variety.

I like the new coffee mugs. Real glassware used for all drinks.

No PFB, but there were bottles of water at boarding on all flights.

All of my D1 flights have left at 11am local or later. Even on the flights that left in the afternoon, the first meal is always the “dinner” meal. I’m guessing because the pre arrival breakfast or ‘lunch’ has less cleanup to do, so makes sense to clean less before landing.

However, what should one expect for the 9:30am SYD-LAX flight from an order-of-meals perspective? Would they still be serving “dinner” at 10am, or will they do breakfast, ‘dinner’, and maybe a prearrival meal (unsure if they would have 3 meals or just 2 and a mid flight snack…FWIW, app says dinner, lunch, breakfast, plus snacks).

Just wondering if I’ll be eating short rib at 10am, lol. And if I wanted a true breakfast that day if I need to grab it before the flight (bummer that the SkyTeam lounge is still closed… ).

I recently completed DTW-CDG-VCE and FCO-CDG-DTW (CDG-DTW-CDG on Delta). On both DL flights, they served an apertif with the initial drink service. This has not been on any prior flights (admittedly, my flying has been limited since COVID). When did this start?

If it helps, these are the pre-order options for my SYD-LAX flight next week:

Sometimes, for international flights, it takes them close to an hour after take-off to get organized for the first beverage service, so the meal service might not start until around 11:30.

Traveling with my dad ATL - SEA in first. Something new to me is if I can order a special meal in advance for him since right now it doesn't show special meal requests under the ticket like I get when I travel delta one and international.
Also is it worth ordering the bland meal or making do with the actual meal service and just eliminating most of the sauces off the actual protein.

Does anyone else think it is odd that they specifically offer Diet Dr Pepper in addition to Coke products? I assume this was catered to whatever requests the Press Corps submitted.

Also, I would like to officially ask that they always make PB&J available!

Coke doesn't have a substitute. Only have regular Mr. Pibb (the answer to Dr. Pepper, not as good though IMO).

In the Charter world Delta will have Coke products unless Coke doesn't offer something you want. AFAIK you can't charter a Delta plane and get regular Pepsi or something like that.

What's the current advance notification time for menu availability? (Domestic D1) Unlike other airlines, DL doesn't seem to have a website link in the reservation re: ordering (and whether it is or isn't yet currently available).

For international, it's a week. They email you, and it's in the app.

I believe that at least in some markets, DDP is distributed by C.
