Received a pre-selection email and had 5 choices which was very nice compared to UA which sent a similar email but had nothing but snack boxes left. Alas 4 of the 5 don’t work for me (my stomach can’t tolerate cauliflower or pesto sauce) thankfully there was the short ribs which looks good from the photos.

I went with the Teriyaki Grain bowl again on my return flight after I got complimentary upgraded to FC on the route GUA-ATL.
This time the bowl was not sweet...maybe the 1st time was a quality control issue I'm giving it a 9/10 this time.
Other options were Salmon Salad or Turkey Sandwich on this 3.5ish hour flight.

I thought flights this long didn't have the Sad Boxes as of April. Guess I'll stick with AA.

MSY to BOS today in first. The meals offered were Asian inspired chicken salad, impossible burger and Israeli style couscous. The chicken salads were gone by row 2.
I had the chicken salad and it was alright. My wife’s couscous looked much better and she thought it was good. The dessert was the best part.

I was warned (a month ago) by an FA, that non US stations would have this issue, Sad Boxes, instead of hot food, as it is taking longer to get their catering suppliers up and running

Does not seem to be an international only problem. Plenty of domestic flights are still getting sad boxes as well.

I recently chatted to an FA on a transcon and asked why the 2 Flight Fuel Snack Boxes were not being offered to the C+ cabin and then MC...she said that catering doesn't load many on the flights, so they would run out way before finishing the beverage/snack service, and thus many would be disappointed not getting one. I wonder why DL doesn't supply more as this is extra revenue for them. Could it be a supply issue? Pre-COVID, there was always a printed menu in the seat pocket showing the contents of each box, so people were aware of the choices...now it's not even mentioned by the FAs, and when I got one recently, others who heard/saw what I got were quite surprised. I think it's time for DL to re-start offering hot meals in C+ and MC on 5-6 hours transcon flights anyway!

Finally tried the Du Nord vodka. I tried it with an open mind and gave it a chance. Yes, it is as bad as everyone says. Harsh and has a bit of an off-taste. No glassware on SEA-SLC or vv which I was surprised about. SEA-based and ATL-based flight crews were just going through the motions. Did not expect glassware on regional SLC-xxx and vv and did not receive so no surprise there. OO crews once again outperformed mainline.

Boeing 767-400, Lunch (Dinner)
I didn't save a picture of the pre-select menu, but there were a pretty normal five choices... short rib, chicken, guinea fowl, salmon, and ravioli.

Not pictured: amuse-bouche of cheese, tomato, and olive on a stick.
The two dishes of this course were excellent. I'm not even sure I can identify everything in them, but the soup tasted of leek and fennel and the salad had quite a number of interesting things in it. I was so taken aback, I had to double-check I was still flying on Delta. (Well, no wine list and just an FA skeptically inspecting the cart, so maybe...
).

Unfortunately, the first course really just managed to lift my expectations up to a point that would not be met again. I swear the menu said something about "lemon burrata" in my ravioli when I made the choice, but what actually arrived was a rather diminutive portion (two ravioli) of what seemed to be spinach-and-cheese ravioli in the tomato sauce with a few vegetables on top. It was fine, but quality-wise more on par with a frozen TV dinner.

Dessert was offered around after the main meal, and if there is one thing that US carriers can do right, it's ice cream. A tasty counterpoint to a rather disappointing main.
Not pictured: arrival service was an (almost bigger than main meal) cheeseburger with fried onions, toppings and potato salad on the side, or a salmon salad.

Flying PHX-ATL tomorrow morning. Flight is advertised as First class, but it's on a A330-300 configured as Delta One. I'm curious about what will be served for breakfast, since I haven't received an email or had anything pop up on the app. (Also picky eater with dietary restrictions.)
