Mostly because it was a fire hazard

I doubt it. There have been some past sightings of plastic in the boxes, but they seem to have been one-off's and not a permanent change. They were just bragging about replacing plastic with the bamboo cutlery in a recent press release (they also will be using it for international coach meals).

That’s right! I agree they are a fire hazard though and for that reason maybe Delta should pull them before something happens.

It's probably just supply issues, if the bamboo supply factory that made that stuff was wiped off the face of the earth though I'd be happy.

cans are objectively a better storage vessel for wine than bottles. There's literally no debate on this point.

It's correct that cans or plastic bags like inside a box keep the wine better. Bottles and corks, however, are part of a long tradition and are part of the experience of enjoying fine wine.

Impossible meatballs from earlier this week. Shockingly good, 10/10 would order this again (and I am a 100% give me real meat person -- but these were spot on). For those asking about kids -- if your kids like meatballs, you can definitely sneak these through.

you're confusing the quality of the wine with the storage container it's in. The two are completely independent. There are plenty of excellent wineries that are putting extremely high-quality wines into cans.

sure, but traditions change. Artificial corks are more common. Screwtop bottles are becoming more common as well. Many people are starting to put more importance on maintaining the integrity of the wine and less importance on cosmetic and vestigial nods to tradition.

This is still very rare in fine wine. Sure, there are some very good $15-$25 bottles that are moving away from cork, but not common at all.

Topic check - debating corks vs cans vs twist off really is not the purpose of this thread.
Lets get things back on topic and avoid a mass deletion of posts please!

Thanks
