As a former employee of Midwest Express, I am completely off of "baked on board" cookies and the things I saw make me want the packaged ones, outside of perhaps a long haul Delta One where the cookie specimen is catered/prepared a bit differently.

Packaged doesn't necessarily mean bad or cheap. Those who remember the Dancing Deer cookies may happily welcome those back, I know I would.

I personally enjoy these Bell’s cookies, and they’re not necessarily cheap. Regardless, I’d rather the FAs focus on prepping the main course better than baking or warming cookies on board. It’s not like they’re giving us store-brand Oreos.

Not shown in the picture but worth noting is that there is a bed of arugula underneath this, which was fresh and tasty. It's really just the corn and beans that were questionable and brought down the rest of the salad.
I had that southwest salad earlier this month and agree - it was pretty good however the corn and beans were entirely bland. Enjoyed the pineapple, and instead of the cookie they had a round mango custard thing which was very good.

There's no such thing as baked on board cookies. All are baked on ground and simply rewarmed,, at least on any airline I'm aware of.

Midwest Express and for a time Frontier Airlines baked cookies on board from dough.

If not cooked properly flour can make sick. Are sure it was actually dough? How long ago was this?

United used to do it too. A cookie above 160 wont make you sick and all cookies are well above 160 when baked, not a risk issue.

While the Dancing Deer Cookie (thank you NWA) was good, the presentation did not read First Class to me.

Now if they plated the Dancing Deer Cookie, I would have zero complaints but a prepackaged cookie just seem cheap even if the cookie not exactly "cheap".

Delta is getting too creative again. I can't say I find any of these options to be enticing.

Dunno, I'd raise an eyebrow that there's only one hot choice, but otherwise all of those sound great to me. Depending on how well they're executed of course...

I can see how it might not be appealing to everybody though.

Somebody should proofread: I can't imagine what bread & butter pickles are. [Comma is missing and some of this should be re-ordered.]

You've never seen jars of bread and butter pickles at the grocery store? It's like the most standard pickle you get with a sandwich. They get their name from the depression era when people would make a sandwich of thinly sliced pickles between slices of buttered bread.

Definitely should be more commas throughout, though.
