Pretty bad for an 1800 mile flight.
see if it lets you request a special meal. My unofficial determination is that if it doesn’t — it’s junk box time, if it does, probably real meal.

Since delta has decided to continue to lie and say you get a lunch or dinner even if you get a box - this has been the only way I can figure it out

Flew in F on a connection (Endeavor) flight yesterday and was offered a PDB. I honestly wasn't expecting one based on the comments I've seen on here. But alas.

Yes, but these are buy-on-board snack boxes, not a special meal option you can select for flights that serve meals. Delta also sells snack boxes on board. I don't know think there is a kid specific one, but they include things like potato chips, oreos, crackers, gummie bears (i.e., basically kid snack food)

I got a PDB on Endeavor back in June from DTW-YYZ like 2 weeks after they came back.

ATL-DEN
The short rib was pretty good, and the salad was fresh. Solid meal overall, and I enjoyed the return of PDB.

Nope on ATL-BOI and BOI-MSP.

I can't decide what's worse: AA's across the board "meh" or DL's "better than pre-covid domestic meals on some flights" and "absolute trash" on the rest. All while making it hard for the average person to know what you're going to get.

At least AA tells you in advance whether you need to eat at the airport.

I'll probably take a little box and self-cater from the SkyClub.

Had the Olympia Provisions Charcuterie lunch on SEA-ATL yesterday (pic below). Was not good and regret getting it over the other two options (Cold Fried Chicken Salad & Three Cheese Tortellini). No PDB. However, PDB on ATL-EWR. While I'm here I have a quick question: does JFK/LGA-ATL get meals in FC?

NYC-ATL was a meal exception route and none of those have returned.

Well, I just got a junk box ex-SEA for a flight that wasn't too much shorter. No PDB. And a worn out 738 that had zero updates since delivery other than some blue mood lighting and wifi. If they were going to stick us on that awful a/c, at least they could have given us a PDB or proper meal to compensate.

Wow. That would be a solid offering for SEA-SFO or SEA-PDX (yes I know it doesn't get meals), but for a transcon? Not so great.

And you must preorder it, if I remember.

That stinks...I agree with you completely - the lying that you are getting a meal is absurd. They obviously know which stations they aren't serving meals at

Do the stations decide this? I would expect there to be some rule that DL applies to determine which routes (and times) get meals.

I guess some stations could have supply chain or labor issues or perhaps their former meal supplier has ceased to operate, but these should be true exceptions.
