Hello Everyone,
Due to a merging error - much of the history of this thread is sitting in the Amex Companion fare thread:
https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/delta-air-lines-skymiles/2053727-using-skymiles-skyteam-other-partners-master-thread.html

The moderation team is in the process of moving posts over to this thread, however it is a very manual process that requires reading every post in the two merged mega threads, so please bear with us as we piece this together.

Thanks. If it's one award, how many SkyMiles would it be? Have talked to at least three agents who have insisted it needs to be priced as two separate tickets.
RE: married segment logic, I have no problem pricing entire itinerary as one award on Virgin Atl., still not sure what the issue with Delta is.

Doesn't VS always price each segment always additively for awards?

So you can price anything there, but it's always going to be additive, it's pricing segment-by-segment (in other words, the future of SkyMiles; and don't forget that VS reservations, app, etc. are run by Delta, or at least are the same system as Delta and run out of Atlanta, not the UK, AFAIK).

VS is pricing entire itinerary MRU-CDG-MAD as one award. That's why I was hoping it would be same situation with Delta but it doesn't seem to be the case. Is there anything I could mention to the Delta agents, see if they can replicate what is available on VS? Thanks

Edit: not sure if Delta and VS use the same booking system: I have no problem pricing itinerary on VS site, while Delta site / app shows no results, even for the MRU-CDG segment. (Only option is to contact Delta directly).

Just a quick follow up to my previous post. Currently talking to a Delta agent, they say the can't see any award space on this route, even on the MRU-CDG segment alone. VS still showing plenty of space on different dates. Any suggestions?

Are you sure the MRU-CDG you're seeing is operated by AF? AF has partnership with Air Mauritius.

What date are you seeing it? I don't see O space for AF473 on any date I look in EF.

I think same issue as I've had in past with SEZ. DL system will search to SEZ as award fine. However from it fails.

Basically you're going to need to get agent to contact support desk for help. However regardless it should price as 65k. Have them look the reverse up if they insist otherwise.

Thanks! So just to be clear, 1. Delta should be able to replicate whatever comes up on VS site, under an O fare? 2. Would it be 65k for only MRU-CDG, or for the whole MRU-CDG-MAD itinerary?

65k whole way.

Yes. If VS sees they should be able. Not 100% guaranteed but close enough.

Give them the flight numbers. This way they can see there's O space. If they say no tell them to contact support. It is there, they must put in manually, they can't just search, as seen they won't find it.

Just found this forum and am quite happy about it, lots of great information.

Was looking at spending 480K points for my wife's parents and ourselves to fly lie down seats to Greece for a 2 week stay in late Aug/early Sept 22 and I had the flights figured out early last week (BOS-ATH, via CDG on AF Business Class aka DeltaOne), but suddenly all of the award seats on AF/KLM from both Boston and JFK vanished from Delta late last week. I called DL, spoke to someone and they could not find any flights I could book with miles on AF/KLM. So my question is, ... happend? Is this an example of a bug or did AF/KLM pull the majority of the award seats on this route? Just to try alternatives, I have also looked at JFK - ATH via CDG and the same results so I am thoroughly confused...

Just discovered that I cant see any AF Business Class Award Seats in VS search of the same time frame... which is very weird...

thanks!

Rob

AF/KL significantly limits inventory for DL Skymiles redemptions. There's some availability in early August, but not later. Anything showing as 120K is a partner award. Delta One awards are available from 105K each way, but they must be booked as roundtrips and can't be booked as one-way awards. DL is being very stingy right now with it's 105K award level to the EU and there's very little inventory available in the summer. It's mostly only available right now in the Winter/Early Spring.

See the thing is, that screen cap your showing right now, less than 10 days ago, was filled with 120K flights. So what the hell changed? I'm rapidly becoming disillusioned by Delta's bs and am thinking about switching to anther airline. I did determine that we have enough points outside of Delta to just buy direct on AF and book the same flights for significantly less, which means Delta can suck it.
