The nice views should be on the left side of the aircraft as you approach:

You do fly past the Old Town during finals

Sharp left turn to land..you can see the runway top right..

great photos - thanks for posting. Dubrovnik itself is beautiful, if a bit hyper-touristed: do try to get up/down the coast. If you can make it to Istria (which is a distance, but possible), it’s worth it.

Was on the inaugural flight, compact and easy airport with only four contact (jet bridge) gates but the Delta flight will get one of them. At passport control you just need to show passport and vaccination proof and remember to fill in the PLF online before your flight as they will check that info there. Then a short walk to baggage claim right after immigration. ATMs widely available as you exit customs, with taxi line and bus to the Old Town all just right outside of arrivals.

please do consider Trogir (very close to Split and actually closer than Split to SPU), Zadar, Sibenik, as well as visiting the islands of Brac, Korcula, and Hvar. Get off the coast if you can and to Knin. The more you venture away from the coast, the more you’ll see the marks of war; some of the countryside is still rife with landmines, some buildings pockmarked from shell and rifle fire. But, oh so beautiful and the hospitality is absolutely genuine.

I'm just hoping Delta hangs onto this flight for next summer. When I first went to Dubrovnik in 2013, the closer one could get to Croatia on SkyTeam was FCO, and then an offline connection on Croatia Airlines. Looking forward to doing a little bit of hopping around the Med in 2022.
