Yes there is. You must repurchase the ticket using a card you have on you. (Same price, not walkup fare) They refund the first ticket.

Yes. And then after you've traveled, you can request past-flight credit so you still don't lose out on the miles.

Otherwise it won't show up anywhere unless you do a search by name with the booking record number.

Thanks for info! (I literally came to FT tonight to find out if I could surprise a fam member with a ticket bought with my miles- don’t want it showing up in their DL account and ruining the surprise)

You can also always add the number once they know about the surprise too.
