Question for old timers... Northwest Airlines in late 1980s

This is a bit of a long shot but I know there's a bunch of old time aviation fans here... I'm trying to fill in some blanks in the flight history I'm compiling on my.flightradar24
I flew a bunch of domestic US flights on what I believe at the time was called Northwest Orient airlines... we're talking mid 1989
LGA-DTW DTW-MCO MCO-MEM MEM-BOS BOS-LGA
I was too young to care at the time... do you have any idea what kind of aircraft these flights would have been on? Google isn't entirely helpful on the matter.
Thanks!

IIRC in the early 1990s, NW was flying a lot of DC-9s and DC-10s, plus 747s on their TPAC Asian routes with some 757s on the intraAsian routes from NRT.

Others here might be able to be more specific.

here’s a link to a Dec 1989 Official Airline Guide that shows NW operating a fair number of domestic flights with 727-200s, 757-200s, and A320s in addition to DC-9s and DC-10s

Link also lists DC9 including the smallest -10 variant which NW would fly with just two flight attendants.

also some stray 727-100s and MD-80s

I frequently flew Lax/Msp/Rst in the '80's. I believe most of the LAX/MSP flts were on D10's and MSP/RST were D9's, with occasional prop plane.

How cool jrl, this might just do the trick NW090987p7
I do have the original flight numbers, cross checking now.

Were the LAX/MSP flights on DC10s 2 or 3 class? In the 80s, NW offered First, Business, and Economy on long-haul flights but not sure if that was the case on some domestic routes operated by widebodies

So, I guess it was a combination of DC-9, DC-10 and 727.
I still have the Piston's NBA championship winners t-shirt I got while connecting in Detroit!
Thanks for the help and the trip down memory lane.

I only remember two class on this route as I would be upgraded from coach to FC, but this would have been starting in the early 1990s.

As I recall, there were 2 classes: First and Economy on the DC10's

This website has a lot of the old timetables. Sadly none from 1989 as it seems but there are some from 88 and 90. Should help you at least get an idea of what was being operated at the time.

Thank you both!

I still have my NW Plat bag tags on my carry-on. Miss NW - such a great airline.

Great in terms of upgrades or? I ask because I always found their inflght product to be the worst among the legacy airlines. Some of the DC9s had just 34'' seat pitch in F.
