Delta TechOps MRO Profile

Saw this piece about the Delta TechOps engine shops on my YouTube feed. Very impressive.

It may be impressive, but what else would you expect for an airline of this size? Engines are important!

By several measure's Delta's the largest, or second largest, airline in the world. But airline size doesn't mean they have their own MRO division. Of the top 20 largest MRO's globally, only 5.5 a part of an airline, and Delta TechOps is the only airline MRO in North America (in the top 20). (HAECO isn't part of Cathay Pacific, but it's parent company is the largest shareholder of CX and they're both based at HKG, so it's .5) So it's not expected that they'd have one or one of this size. It's impressive no matter what.

A couple of years ago I got to tour UA's MX facility at CLE . This was during the 737 engine blade inspection program after the SWA incident. Very impressive.
