I also learned about a policy of canned cocktails. Don't see a recent butt-in-seat review, or mention of food service (Specifically in flight-fuel boxes). Certainly will keep looking. Reddit has been somewhat helpful so far.
I'd be patient for now. Once the recently announced changes get implemented (still a few weeks away) there will be plenty of reports in this thread.

Exactly. These new changes were just announced and have yet to go into effect. I have a round trip (in F) coming up Apr 26 - May 7 so will definitely leave a review of the service changes then.

I'm surprised you got the ice through TSA though and didn't it melt by the time you got on board? Could be smart to bring a ball jar or empty yeti and fill it with ice just before the flight in the skyclub. Hopefully the flight attendants didn't catch you
Solid Ice is fine. Liquid ice (aka water ) is not.

DUH forgot it's a solid LOL. I wonder if dry ice can get past security. Put some in a large 32 oz tumbler and order a couple of cocktails at the skyclub and pour them in the tumbler and be all set for a long flight

Dry ice can. It's never in a liquid state.

Yeah you can carry it past security. And no harm to drink if you pour it straight on dry ice but be careful when you take it out and avoid any bodily contact (hands, lips etc.)
It does produce lots of 'smoke' so there's always a chance that someone on plane will freak out.

I would not use dry ice on a plane specifically for this reason.
We always eat at Mastro's in Scottsdale when we visit, and they make a lemon martini where they make a big deal out of pouring the martini at the table into a glass that has a small amount of dry ice - the smoke and bubbling is sort of gimmicky, yet also sorta cool. GF loves that cocktail.

I have carried ice through TSA checks many times. I have also filled my yeti with ice at the Popeyes in DTW (self serve)

A Yeti tumbler will keep ice solid to usable for hours.

Also here are some pictures of Sprite Zero 12 and 7.5oz cans from my trip to Publix today (FL).

So what happens if you have a cup of ice and some of it has melted by the time you're going through security?

I am not sure if you are serious, but the answer is pretty simple ...
1. You get no question and proceed to your gate
2. You get questioned, dump out the water and proceed to your gate.
You won't get arrested or detained

Have been on 52 Delta flights since the pandemic began...this week took my first American flight. Was super excited thinking I would get a Diet Dr. Pepper and some more service. I only follow the Delta threads as I mostly fly them, and was led to believe that Delta service is far below the competitors....well, let me tell you - I will not be complaining about Delta again (not true, but not at least for a few weeks). American flight attendants and service were terrible. A small bottle of water on two flights with a bag of pretzels (MSP-CLT and PHL-MSP). Nothing on the shorter segments (CLT-MDT and MDT-PHL - that last segment is only 20 minutes so no problem there, but the other one was 90 minutes long). The flight attendants came once thru the aisle and then sat down the rest of the entire flight. Plus completely full flights, it felt so weird to sit next to a stranger again although I actually kind of liked that. But with the seat blocking and more snacks offered, Delta is doing a much better job.

I wouldn’t expect them to come by more than once on a sub-3 hour flight (which is your longest).

What happened when you requested a Diet DP? Or did you not even ask for one? 🤦‍♂️

Drinks on American right now are "on request only." Not sure if you were in J or Y, but usually, but not always, they do come around row by row in J. Y is definitely on request, but I've never had anything but my drink brought to me with a smile when I've pressed the call button. (No alcohol in Y, full bar in J.) All this to say, if you had asked for a Diet Dr. Pepper, I bet you would have gotten one.
