Unable to check in for flights to Japan on DL

Hello!

3 of us are travelling to Japan tomorrow and our check in won't work on any of us. We have 2 different PNR's.

I called Delta and they said "visa/entry restrictions" ... japan is 90 days visa free on a US passport, and the entire round-trip is booked DL, so they can definitely see the return.

I asked upon landing today since I was already at the departure airport for tomorrow, and they said "they're probably going to ask you if you've been to China"

It makes sense sure, since Japan is a big transit point... but I just want to see has anyone else recently been successful with check-in in for Japan flights on Delta?
Want to make sure we're not the only ones being flagged...

TIMATIC has been updated with the entry restriction, so I would assume it's just standard:

Code:

Information as of  13FEB20 / 1748 UTC
National USA (US)              /Embarkation USA (US)
Destination Japan (JP)
Japan (JP)

Passport required.
- Passports and other documents accepted for entry must be
valid on arrival.
Admission and Transit Restrictions:
- Passengers who have been in the Hubei Province or Zhejiang
Province (China People's Rep.) in the past 14 days are not
allowed to enter Japan.
- This does not apply to spouses or children of nationals of
Japan.

I'm going to Japan in March. Will be booking my flight today. Hope things don't change.
