AA is lie flat J DFW-ANC I believe. If this is still the case, I would stick with the non-stop.

I just punched in some random summer dates in July & August and DFW-ANC/ANC-DFW shows an A321, standard config (Not an A321T). .

I disagree. The 739 is that bad. Worst plane in the fleet IMO outside the CR2.

This is surprising. I wouldn’t think an A321 would be able to make this trip. Definitely AAvoid that.

Last year it was a mix of 788 (flew in July) and 757 (flew in Sept) lie flat. 2018 was 757 lie flat and every year prior a domestic 757. Im thinking the 788 may get put back on this Summer, but nonstop J fare is absurd right now..

Thanks everyone for the replies. Agree Delta might not be the best option, but if I go with them, MSP will be my connection city.

Side note, has Delta ever flown LAX-ANC?

Delta has flown LAX/ANC seasonally on and off for a while but I’ve flown this flight in F.

I prefer MSP as I only need one connection to get back to YYZ. IN addition, the 757 is way better than the 737 they fly to SLC. They usually leave at a gate close to the F Skyclub in MSP, so good place eat before the 6hr flight time.

Flew to ANC-SEA a few times in F, so can't comment of seats in Y, but overall good experience. My only trip via SLC was a redeye in an old 737 and it was uncomfortable, so I don't recommend it.

While we’re on the topic of flying to Anchorage. I’m booked MSP to ANC , March 2nd in Y. Current FCM offer has been holding steady at $620. Any data points / experience here if this will come down?

Flew MSP-ANC on a 757 last night. Good food, service and on time. No one banging you in he head with backpacks while boarding (in F)!!!

I flew DL LAX-ANC back in the mid-2000s and the plane was pretty empty even going our with multiple FC seats both ways.

What does the currently available FC fare cost and what did you pay for your coach tickets? BTW, is this one segment, OW, or RT?

Well the full route is MCI-MSP-ANC-SEA-MCI and total fare was around $750 in Y. The FCM offer is just for MSP-ANC segment. A full ticket in J (D,Z fares) are like $1900 RT. I have plenty of RUC sitting around. I'll just waitlist and wait!

The lowest FCM I've seen between MSP-ANC was $502 one way back in October. I took it as it was part of a long international itinerary and wanted as much rest as possible. I've got a trip in April/May and the offers for this route are $800+ one direction, and $900+ the other. So I doubt you will see it go lower than $620.

Sort of related, I frequently see FCM offers of $115 each way between ANC-SEA and vice versa. To me that is an excellent deal I always take.
