Can we change travel validity on a partially used ticket?
Can we change travel validity on a partially used ticket? For eg. Pax has partially used his ticket. And now wants to change his return date. As per fare rules changes are permitted @ USD 100 per change and existing ticket Max stay is 3M, which will now be changed to 6M. Can I change ticket from 3M to 6M on partially used ticket ??

Generally, yes. What will happen is that the unflown fare will become a credit (less any penalties and fees) for payment for a new fare. Generally, the new fare will be one that was available the date of the original ticket purchase (historical fare) which is generally favorable to the customer.
Of course this all depends on the rules of the original ticket.

I never knew this. They actually look at the fare for that particular fare class on the date of purchase and apply it, regardless of the new flight not meeting those fare rules?

Technically this is correct, of course. IME, though, once it has to go to manual re-pricing anyway, they will ignore max stay restrictions and just charge the change fee on a partially used ticket as long as the original fare class is available on the new flight.

Which all circles back to the fare rules of the original e-ticket and its pricing and availability. Beyond that, this is all a hypothetical discussion.
The easiest and best way for you to figure this out is not to figure it out and to call DL and ask. Just ask them to price the date, flights and routing you want. Don't get into the hypothetical questions as those will yield the right answer to possibly the wrong question.
