Is it worth saying anything and where?

Had a 1st class seat on a flight today DTW-MSP. Guy in seat next to me was served a double vodka and soda before takeoff and then 3 or 4 doubles during the flight. Getting set to land, and he looks at me absolutely out of it and starts hitting me. Wasn't really hard, but very annoying.

I am not looking for anything ( compensation wise), but I want flight attendants to be a little more aware of the amount they serve to people in such a short period of time. Is it worth mentioning, and if so, where do I send a note, or call?

Did you tell an FA?

That guy needed some negative attention from an official.

I think its weird that you want to hold Delta and the flight attendants accountable for this guy's actions, but you chose not to hold the guy accountable for his actions.

That was assault. Why give him a pass only to blame the airline later?

No blame. Just weird.

I am not tolerating someone assaulting me on an airplane. I am filing charges. I don't care how drunk he was.

The victim chose not to file charges. That's their choice. Just not sure why the hold the airline more accountable than they hold the assailant.

At the end of the flight, I told the flight attendants. He was sitting in his seat in a stupor. I left as fast as I could.

The hits were not hard enough to file charges. My personal opinion is that the Flight Attendants should know better than to serve 1 customer 4-5 doubles in less than 2 hours. That is a recipe for disaster.

You should have reported it to a FA immediately. While it's great that you were not injured, suppose that he had escalated the situation?

Definitely file a DOT complaint. DOT will require DL to investigate and report back.

Also, send a note to DL.

I didnít mean to blame you and I understand why you left quickly. Sorry this happened to you.

I wouldn't report it to DL and especially DOT unless you want the FA(s) to get in trouble.

The passenger doing the hitting should get in trouble, but that won't happen. OP already said something to the FA upon deplaning.

If it had been the FA who was assaulted would you say the same thing?

Why should a passenger be treated any differently as a human being?
