Delta One Suites — First Row Center

I have seen conflicting reports about the presence of storage in the first row, center, seats in DL1 Suites.

Has anyone flown in these seats and have any feedback?

Some do - some don't

Some do some don't. In 2018 and 2019, flew flights to/from NRT and to Korea from DTW and ATL on Delta One in A350's. They had no overhead storage for the middle seats.

In October 2019, we flew a B777 from ATL to Shanghai. It had a poor quality Delta One (I think by now that plane was remodeled with a more modern Delta One) but it did have overhead space for the middle seats.

Poster asked about D1 Suites. This is in A350, most 777, A339 (not A332/3), and increasingly 764 (not 763).

A350 has no center overhead storage. The rest do.

OP needs to state what plane type of nuances of the seat storage.

764s are getting new seats - but NOT the suites. 777s are getting the suites, and do retain overhead bins in the center even after retrofitting.

I think he want information on the FIRST row, middle seat (B & C seat), probably to travel with someone...

I am not a fan of the middle seat, can not say very much about it.

If you travel alone windows is better.

The + of the first row is you have on some configuration an additional space to put something (same as a tablet) and you are the first one serve and go out of the plane.

I thought DL still called them suites, albeit without doors.

The 764s simply aren't wide enough for the suites

777-200LR, LAX-SYD.

Specifically, there was a mention of no storage near the floor, which sounds like a regular bulkhead seat problem.

I am definitely interested in general thoughts about this first row of seats, too. When we booked, the only open middle pairs were first and last rows, and being at the back near the economy bathrooms seemed worse.

For solo travelers, the window seat with the cubby on the aisle seems like the way to go. Am flying with my wife on this one, however.

They are if you go 1-1-1.

Fewer passengers in the cabin would be nice, but it is still business class.

AC did this on their 767s. Just saying, it’s not the airplane’s fault.

I’m on an A350 right now MSP-ICN (D1 but not row 1). Just walked by row 1 (it’s only middles; row 2 is where the windows start) and the storage is the same as the rest of the middles. There isn’t any middle overhead bins but there always seems to be enough room. The lavatory is forward a little farther than row 1 so you’re not really having to deal with that.

I would, however, avoid row 1 due to the sound from the Galley. I am not sure what it is but it seems to me that on every international flight there is a constant need to open and close every galley door at least once every 10 minutes. The constant slamming of aluminum doors already drives me crazy several rows back. If you’re good with this than go for it.

On the 777s I would avoid the galley over the lavatories. The lavs are set away from the last row more than the seat map makes it appear and the crews are pretty good about drawing the curtains.

1G / 1C

Ugh. I am in 1G 1C on the A330-300 JFK-BCN. Reading this makes me wonder about storage and noise issues. Hopefully noise won’t be an issue overnight.
