Evacuation slide falls off Delta flight from CDG and lands in mans front yard
I didn't know this was possible if the door on the plane didn't open?

Doesn't sound like the same issue, as I think the other problems involved doors/exits opening. But 767s did have this problem that was supposed to be repaired by 2019...

Dates:
This AD is effective October 13, 2016.
(f) Compliance
Comply with this AD within the compliance times specified, unless already done.
(g) Replacement of the Trigger Mechanism Sector and Sear
Within 42 months after the effective date of this AD, modify the escape slide regulator valves of the forward-entry door, forward-service door, aft-entry door, and aft-service door, and as applicable, modify the escape slide regulator valves of the mid-entry door and mid-service door, in accordance with the Accomplishment Instructions of Boeing Special Attention Service Bulletin 767-25-0548, Revision 1, dated April 23, 2015.
This AD is effective October 13, 2016.
(f) Compliance
Comply with this AD within the compliance times specified, unless already done.

Yeah, and it doesn't need to weigh nearly that much to kill somebody. I'm disappointed that a known issue that could cause serious damage and injuries on the ground with a known fix was given *4 years* to implement. This is a lot like the 737 engine blade inspections after a plane was damaged, and Southwest and other airlines fought saying they would take too much downtime, until that poor woman was killed and all of a sudden they were able to complete all of the inspections in a few days with minimal flight impact.
