DL benefits on KL Coded but DL Operated Flight
 

Hi All -

Booked a RT year end trip / run to keep Diamond for next year. Booked KLM (074 Stock) ticket with the following legs. All are booked in J/Z class with KLM / AF flight numbers except for the first segment that was booked in Y (no one can figure out why, but the fare was so good, it wasn't worth me arguing. Ticket should get me 40% of distance flown on most all legs towards MQD, so a little over $4500.

The question is on seat assigbnment / upgrade on the first flight. Despite a few calls, can only get a seat assigned in Y, not even C+. Its a short flight so not the biggest deal, but they cant even add me to the U/G they say and need to 'activate' my UP request at teh Aiurport. Does this seem right, Tried a few times and several l;ong calls and seems no way to fix. Off thing is last segment operated by DL Connection worked fine. Thanks!

Yes, can't get on list until check in

That has been my experience too, just called about it last week again and got the same response...flight will show up as "stand by" for upgrade at check in, with the message that gate agent needs to activate when you check the upgrade list. BTW the 3 or 4 times I had that situation the upgrade never went through.

"For all Complimentary Upgrades on Delta-operated flights that are marketed by Air France/KLM or Virgin Atlantic, Medallion Members will clear on the day of departure, subject to upgrade availability."
