Fare class for _CA fares?

I have a lot of upcoming travel and Delta seems to be the preferred contract carrier for my route, with the lowest price in our travel portal. I noticed they have _CA fares, which I'm not familiar with. My understanding is that these are basically YCA fares (highly discounted unrestricted government fares), but with limited seat availability. Has anyone booked one of these, and if so, what fare class do these book into on Delta? I basically want to avoid E fares (basic economy). Interestingly, the prices are less than half of a main cabin fare (V class) on delta.com.

Have you asked anyone at your company?

I work for a company of about 600,000 employees, and Delta is our preferred airline, because of our corporate travel program DL flights booked on our travel portal are heavily discounted (BE prices or less) but always book at V.

They are government fares, and most people I work with don't travel at all. Just thought someone else on FT might have booked one of these on Delta. If not, I will find out soon enough.

Given that information, you might as well have just named your company.

These are government fares for government travel and normally are booked through a government travel portal or authorized travel agent for a government agency.

YCA should be unrestricted, last seat availability, essentially a discounted version of FULL Y.

For the more restricted government fare, I think DL uses HCA for most domestic routes. It's limited inventory, but IME that doesn't tend to be a problem often, and AFAIK there aren't other restrictions such as length of stay.

Good Day,

Delta has several GVT fares, which all are unrestricted fares. The ones that I have usually seen are YCA, MDG, HCA, HDG, KCA, LDG, most markets are either YCA or KCA.

Thanks. So would HCA be an H fare on Delta? Can I assume these don't translate to E fares?

Did they pick Delta because of the SEA hub?

HCA would book directly into H class of service. There are no GVT fares that book into Basic Econ(E).

I think I've seen some LCA fares too, which would be lower than HCA, but not in a long time.

I'm now about a week out from travel and the flights were finally ticketed. Booked into L on Delta, so I guess these were LCA fares. Still a bit surprised how cheap these fares are, usually about half the price of a BE ticket on delta.com.

On a route I frequently fly, Delta usually books into LCA (L fare) if available. The YCA fare is about $60 more.

My booking portal only shows _CA, so it's a bit of a mystery until the flight is actually ticketed.
