EOY email with personalized statistics
Just got an email with some quick stats on my "2019 business travel" - surprising since the year is far from over.
Curious to collect some data points on the # of miles vs. "top xx % of abc region business travelers" I'm at 165,140 miles = Top 10% New York City Area business travelers Curious if anyone has a more granular NYC % (e.g., top 5%) Post yours if you get the email! |
Someone posted on Twitter 36k miles and top 5% of New York. Must be Opposite Day.
I got 173k top 5% Las Vegas. |
I received the email, but the company name does NOT match any company I have traveled for. In fact never heard of them (nor have I entered a SkyBonus number... etc.)

102K miles, top 5% in DTW.
All domestic travel, most flight segments 500-1000 miles. Assuming this all based on my flights booked through my corporate travel agency that are noted as "Business" Interesting that they indicate that this week (week of 10/21) is their busiest business travel week of the year. |
As is tradition, this data makes no sense. Year-to-date date, I've accrued only 160K MQM (which includes some bonuses from B/Y fares and also includes maybe 8K of personal travel MQMs) but the email says 190K miles (good for top 5% in Atlanta). I could see it being accurate if they're taking October of last year through October of this year.

Mine did not have a company name in the email.
Terms and Conditions Data shown is representative of customer’s corporate travel behavior this year through 10/01/2019. Corporate Travelers are customers traveling on company business with an employer who has an active Delta Corporate Sales Agreement with Delta at the time of ticketing. |
47K and Top 5% in Seattle. The 47K number is inaccurate as I only have 45K MQM (20K of which are rollover). Are they using a random number generator for each metric?

Just got email and says 160,366 but that got me top 15% of ATL. Not sure how accurate this is on most visited cities, I visit DTW quite a bit and it didn't show, and one that I visited one time this year came up as most visited.

Typical. People in Seattle (..or at least 200 miles of it apparently) get all the goodies. No voucher for me.

they said on linkedin that you would get the email if you flew at least three business trips so far, and your company is contracted with delta. I assume that the percentage calculations are based on THAT criteria as opposed to total travelers.
im also still waiting for my email since I have taken more than three biz trips with a contracted account |

My letter said I had flown <6,000 miles for business, which is not even close to correct, and was in the top 15% of business travelers in Houston. I guess there are lots of Houston based flyers with just one or two flights. One of the top three cities listed I did not fly to or from on Delta this year. I flew SLC-PHX several times and neither city was listed. Oh well. I did cash in miles for two cheap F award tickets for my mother-in-law so I am pleased about that.

82k and top 5% for RDU -- seems roughly accurate, not counting award travel or flights on KE/AF flight numbers.
The top 3 cities is the random generator for me: NYC (100% my #1 especially if including connections) AUS (only been once this year) BKK (only been once this year and DL doesn't actually fly there, KE was the last leg so that one is really odd) I've had a lot of one-offs this year but been to LHR twice, SFO twice, and BOS twice so you'd think those would rank higher than AUS/BKK |

good lord, 165k miles (I'm assuming that's MQM not actual BIS miles?) has to be way higher than just top 10%, even in NYC, unless they have some insanely restrictive definition of "business traveler".
Am at 121k BIS miles with another 37k to go for the year.... thankfully only 3% of those were in Y |
Does anyone know if the "Business Miles" is there miles flown on tickets booked in their corp portal (Concur) etc? My number of business miles doesn't match my total flown this year, so I would assume so.

I got this email with a drink voucher as well, FWIW. |

TBH that is one of the most useless pieces of information to me on the app, not sure why they care to put it out visibly. I do understand that they want to track it internally. |

Guessing it's the same bookings that show up with "business" on your mytrips list on the app? For me that are the ones that are booked through my corporate travel desk.

Not sure how they count miles or where data comes from but a lot of my long distance Asia travel isn't included.
